The game was summed up for me in the determination of Saints to keep Hardaker out on 28 minutes. Apart from not letting that Scrot any room to celebrate it was 100% commitment from the team that has produced the best rugby over the season.
Reflecting this onto Leeds it’s still apparent to me that we are lacking some key role players in the squad. I thought an early comment on a different thread on here about needing an enforcer was well placed like the roles took on by JP, Kyliie and Mitch is much needed at Headingley

As he was lining it up I was saying they should have kicked for the corner and set up for a DG. His kicking was never reliable enough for that shot.

Both finals this year have been fantastic. That was the best GF for many a year. NRL standard. I do wonder if the relatively minimal games both had leading up to the finals helped the standard. Great stuff.

Well after all the rubbish we've had to endure off the pitch, all things considered, it's been a very enjoyable season. It's such a shame no fans could watch that. It's one of the games I've seen in any sport

As much as I like the tradition of Saints legends losing their last match for the club in a Grand Final, I was pleased for Graham. He reminds me of those titanic matches we had with them during our hat-trick seasons. He's one of those players we chanted abuse at but would have had him in a Leeds shirt in a heartbeat.

You may be right! A lot better game than the usual GF which is usually contested by two teams who are on their last legs and missing key players through injury.

Aye. There's a few fans (not just Wigan) stating they should have kicked for touch and set up a DG but can you imagine the reaction if they'd failed with the attempt or knocked on early in the tackle count? If Zak fancied it then you'd have to let him have a dig. He's no Pat Richards though!

There are only 3 kickers in the SL era i would have 100 percent fancied from there under that pressure one being Richards the others being Deacon and Sinfield.

the pressure was brought down a fair notch with no fans but i never fancied Zak from there at all.

I'd have backed Harris and maybe Farrell to make that kick also.
