His season is over, I believe his Rhinos career is as well. Harsh decisions have to be made in sport and in this economic climate. For one of the highest earners, he is not value for money, and is a luxury player.

I would not be suprised to see a compromise agreement come to fruition, and Buderus is let go. This would free up even more space under the cap, for players that we really need - ie quality back rower and centre.

Apart from the fact that his defence seems to compensate for many others around him and his breaks from dummy half have either set up a fair number of tries this season or have put is in decent field position to go on from.

We look worse with him off the field.

Buderus is clearly the best hooker in the league, possibly the world. having said that we have won championships with Diskin and it is clear Diskin is not an impact player from the bench.

Diskin is, no doubt, on significantly less than Buderus.

Buderus will now have missed large chunks of the season.

Could that salary be better utilised elsewhere?
