It’s awesome that we’ve got the most entertaining and best fullbacks in the world up against each other on Saturday. I have to say I’ve been more entertained by Sam Tomkins offerings throughout super league and the four nations that I have by Billy’s efforts in the four nations so far.

Slater always has a fantastic game against England but let’s hope that Tomkins has a better one than him this Saturday!

Sam will need a big game with the RFU watching if he's to tie up the deal with Union that he wants so dearly.

I'd say their self-worth is pretty much grounded in fact. I'd take either of them at Leeds in a heartbeat.

Actually, my observation that they had an over-inflated sense of self-worth wasn't to do with which team they would/wouldn't get in to. It was to do with the fact that they're JUST A RUGBY PLAYER.

You can be the best RL player in the world (Slater IS!), and it still doesn't give you the right to have THAT chip on your shoulder.

You run around a piece of grass for other people's amusement. That's all you do. No arrogance, shoulder chips, over-inflated sense of self worth AT ALL please. Regardless of what team you could walk in to. I'm not saying they're not good at Rugby League. They are. I'm not saying I wouldn't have them at Leeds. I would. But it's JUST A GAME. everybody calm down count down from five nice and slowly. now dont make things up its just a question but what has made you think tomkins is arrogant? it started off as he's a cheat. I will tell you why he isn't arrogant but just a jack the lad enjoying hes rugby.. many of you may know or not sam does a lot of charity work (milly dowler cause), rugby development with st pats (in hes spare time) and on he's twitter will allways answer charity or birthday requests. Even in his interviews he is allways down to earth just actually listen to them. To me if he was as arrogant as he is being portrayed on here then why would he bother he must be too good for anybody.

That isn't arrogance that was allowing emotions to get the better of him. Lee smith challenge cup celebration in front of the wigan fans that could be seen as arrogance but i would see it as an overflow of emotions.

Sam Tomkins is by far the best player in Super League at this time. It would be a shame to lose him to Union but I can't see a way of keeping him unless the RFL do the right thing and let Wigan (and all other teams) discount a portion of one player's wages on the Salary Cap (Marquee Player).

Tompkins was immense today and really took it to (and from) the Aussies. We just can't let club loyalties blind us to the fact that as a game we can't lose such prodigious talents to the dark side.

I thought the whole team performed well today. There was a time in the first half when I thought England really had a belief they could win. Hall's first try was simply sensational! If that had been in the NRL we wouldn't have heard the last of it. I really believe that If England can beat the Kiwis then they have a great chance to beat Australia and win the 4 nations. I didn't expect England to win at Wembley but was surprised at how well they played. I didn't think they could beat Australia twice but I think they can beat them once. A win in the final would do very nicely indeed. After the injustice of the sending off and try that were not given I am so fired up to back the England boys. I thought Peakcock was immense when he came back on when clearly injured and led by example. With a full team England can win this! Lets get right behind them.

First time have seen tomkins the kid can play they are going mad on him over here in aus would like to see him play in the Nrl just to see him play week in week out hope he doesn't go to the dark side

he needs to think hard and long. in RL he is world class and would live long in the memories.

in union he would be no more than a good player with flashes of brilliance and sadly forgotten. the only english winger /fullback player pre 1980 i can recall is David duckham but ask me about RL is a different matter
