| [i"The regular season is unimportant and the weekly rounds are meaningless. It's all about how you finish, not how you start. We won it from 5th last year and we'll do the same this year"[/i etc, etc, etc.
I appreciate that our success in recent years has lead some supporters to pump up their arrogance levels and believe that we are close to invincible, but this kind of attitude is very dangerous.
If anyone needs reminding, what we did last year was not the norm - and we were the first ever club to do it. Do people really think that regular season rounds are unimportant and that we're going to do the same thing again?
We have played badly for 3 weeks on the trot. Really badly. It's wrong to think that it doesn't matter and people who think otherwise are going to be in for a shock because, like it or not, league position is vital when it comes to play off time.

| There really is nothing to worry about. Because you can do all the worrying you want and it won't change a thing. Just turn up, watch and enjoy. Don't expect success but enjoy it if it happens.
I don't think Leeds are trying to prove any points about the regular season, they've just hit a bad bit of form. But it's not arrogance on my part not to worry about results at this stage of the season. It's just education. You see, I've watched this team hit form at the riight time for many seasons now and I'll not be unduly shocked to see them do it again.
And if they don't it seems to me, from traffic on here when Leeds do badly, that will make a lot of people happy because they will have something to moan about.

| Losing 3 in a row is far from good by an stretch of the imagination. But if you take it in context 3 defeats at this stage of the season doesn't particularly damage our chances of picking up a further trophy other than the LLS, which I doubt many are THAT bothered about. If our current run of form continues for a further 3 weeks then yes I will start questioning our methods and staff. Aslong as we remain within touching distance of the top 4, which we are then we will be fine. We have some key injuries remember to players who are crucial in most of our attacking plays. Keep the faith and just remember there is plenty time to turn things around.

| I know some of us are a bit broken record with this, but the other thing is we wouldn't have beaten Huddersfield and Wire away and got to Old Trafford, or even be talking about winning from outside the top 4, without the playoff performances of Buderus and this year we don't have Buderus, or an adequate replacement.
That's not to panic over a run of bad form, rather it's saying that we need to turn the form around a lot earlier than we did last year to give us the best chance of making OT.

Couldn't see a bloody thing mate, so far from the pitch. So we blagged our way into the Coral stand for the 2nd half. I was just bored throughout, poor game.
You should have said hello.

Adversity will always make a board more interesting - it isn't moaning its debate, if Leeds won by 60 every week you would not have any traffic on this site.
It is how you make things better - real fans care and most on here want things to improve want the side to play to its potential. In the old days fans would have written the YEP now they say what they think on a message board.
My take, this team isn't there this year to challenge the top sides - Wigan, Huddersfield and Saints. I would also suggest it would struggle to beat Warrington and Catalans if all three had their best side out. There are too many average/passed it players especially in the forwards.
I know it is not allowed but Buderus is a big loss, when it really mattered he upped his game and he made a huge difference. What has been evident without Burrow/McGuire, Sinfield really struggles to influence the attack. Yesterday the only sparks came from Webb and Ward. How many games has McGuire missed? how many tries have we scored?

| Who was available to replace buderus,
I don't rate really rate mcshane
Not seen enough of hood
Still think burrow is best as impact player off the bench
Last night was poor although hardaker got the try he is still struggling to link with hall, we also struggled to Watkins in to space
Would have liked to have seen Webb at 7 with smith(to get his form back he needs a run in the side) at fb

Mcshane is far from good enough in my eyes (never will be) he's been around the first team now for 4/5 years and hasnt stepped up too the mark!!
Hood needs more and regular game time-Burrow out surely would be ideal time for Hood too start
Could Hood play full 80mins??
I'd also like to of seen webb in at 7-think he could offer us something different and be a massive plus (BJB at fullback)
Don't no what has happend to Smith, needs to build his confidence up massively maybe in the under 20s

The regular round results and performances don't matter a jot but alas, that's the commodity currently on offer and yes, it is crap.

Presumably nobody was available to replace him, because GH made a big deal of looking and he wasn't replaced...
However he did have a contract with Leeds for 2012, and although his preference was obviously to go back for a swansong with Newcastle, he was professional enough that he would have seen out that Leeds contract if required. I seem to remember the Leeds brass saying that he wouldn't be leaving unless and equivalent player was recruited, and I doubt they meant Richard Moore.

That's a strange thing to say about a 22 year old who made his debut in 2009, behind Diskin & Buderus and has made only 30 odd appearances of which 75% were off the bench.

| It doesn't explain the bad run of form but we've actually played twice as many away games in the league so far as home games (will be 4 home and 6 away after Monday) - mainly because we didn't play the Wakefield game at home because of the WCC.

| Catalans 6th, Hull KR 7th, Hull FC 8th
FC & KR knocked out first week of playoffs by Leeds(42-10) and Catalans(56-6).
Catalans then knocked out second week of playoffs by Wigan 44-0.
Yeah the playoffs really rewarded those 'mediocre' teams.

It was nailed on the Bradford win and their now extension till tomorrow to find their extra bit of cash, forget that game!!

Are you saying the same applies in the NRL? perhaps that is why so many different sides have won it - it is about being good for four weeks?

I don't like a Top 8 play-off system in the NRL either. Does it reward mediocrity there also? Yes, but not anything like to the same degree as in SL. The clubs in the NRL are of a similar quality throughout - the gap between top, middle and bottom isn't nearly as huge as it is in SL and if a gap does appear one season between certain NRL clubs, it disappears usually by the next season. Therefore no team in the NRL can afford to toss it off, coast in certain games, rest players willy nilly in the knowledge that they'll still be guaranteed to finish in the Top 8 by the end of the regular rounds. I could never predict the Top 8 teams in the NRL by the end of the season - I may get 4 or 5 correct with luck. OTOH, I can predict at least 6 or 7 of the Top 8 in SL with absolute certainty.
