Hello chaps. Saints supporter here.
For the record I think Knowles should have got a 1 game ban for the arm pull. It did no damage but it’s not something we want to see in tackles. However, some of the stuff posted on here since Saturday has been mental. Posters wanting Matautia and Welsby banned for perfectly good tackles. Give your heads a wobble. As for us being ‘golden boys’ I’m not sure where this is founded. Like all other teams we have had players banned this year for the pettiest of things. The match review are a mess. SKY hate us. You can hear the disappointment in Clarkes voice whenever we score. We aren’t loved by or get preferential treatment from anyone. Anyway, like I said I think Knowles should have got 1 game.
Some bitterness from a few posters on here though. I thought you would just be chuffed to be back at old trafford after a few crap seasons. How many games did you win this year? 16? 17? You jammie’d a win over Castleford and the week prior beat Huddersfield with the help of Mylers little handstand stunt to get Hill sent off.
In 2008 you weren’t talking about boycotting the sport when Lee Smith had his 4 match ban overturned for kicking a bloke in the head in the semi. So get off your high horses chaps.

Why is it mad? I could fall flat on my and be fine but my feet could be above my head. If you think it's mad, probably best to explain why, or, well, you look mad?
I think in terms of tackling technic there will be many more occasions where the hips are above the head.
If a players legs are on the ground you can't physically spear or tip tackle them.
Lifting the legs is where the issue comes I. As it maybe fine bit it can easily go wrong as other players in the tackle and the tackled player themselves cant then control the tackle with forces moving in many different directions.
I think the refs have a duty here as if motion is stopped, the call for held should be quicker.
There are many times were the motion is stopped and whilst the players continue to wrestle no held is called, resulting in very late offloading or tacklers continuing to wrestle or lift in an attempt to complete the tackle.
For me if forward motion is stopped then that should be held.
Quote="Saddened!"Lomax got smashed a few times, he took the ball in a lot. He's going to get injured, but yes, being clever and knowing when to stay down is a sport-wide problem, not specific to any one player or team. He didn't do that in the Martin incident though, he got hammered there, he's going to need a moment to collect his thoughts after that isn't he.
What Makinson did was a bit of a weird one I agree, but it's not dangerous. I'm sure there was no attempt to detach it.
