London away gets moved = never going to another game away from Headingley, ever. OK then. See ya
Rugby League, like every other major sport, is reliant on pay TV funding. These relationships are always tangled but they are also essential, like it or not. There has to be give and take though and Sky shouldn't really be moving games which have already effectively been moved once for TV.'"
This is not the first time that the London away fixture in particular has been messed about with ... They did something similar a couple of years ago.
As has been pointed out, let's have a bit of a sliding scale .... Catalans games (remember the London fans half way back to the airport, because their game had been rearranged) should pretty much be played on the date they're advertised at. London games, moved at say 10 - 12 weeks notice, inter county games say 4-6 weeks notice and local games say 2 weeks maximum. That way the broadcaster is able to show what they want, when they want and the fans know where they stand in terms of booking something outside those timescales.
It's not just the fact that this game has moved, it's effectively the straw that has broken the camel's back and I have been feeling increasingly disillusioned with aspects of the game for a while.
