I have just read the article too and it makes him out to be an idiot, but when you listen to the interview he's obviously having a laugh and a joke.

Because it's like a text message. You can't always tell what someone is ACTUALLY saying. If you listened to the podcast, as im assuming the OP didnt either, then this thread would have never started.
