Favourite moments for me both come from last years Grand Final. His try that got us back in the game and him pushing up on the shoulder of Sinfield (I think) when we looked a bit lost on the 5th tackle in our own half, he went flying downfield and gave it to Hardaker who put a kick into Saints in-goal for Jones-Bishop to force a drop-out.
Been a pleasure to watch. Sadly never fully returned to his best after his back injury, but will be a miss for us next year. Certainly brought more to the team than some gave him credit for. Always played with a smile on his face and had a gob which rivalled Baileys!
Webby has been a vital part of some of our greatest years, his linking in the line and try scoring passes are already being missed, it's been a pleasure watching him in his pomp.
With Webb it really has been a tale of two different players at Leeds. Before his serious back injury at the end of the ?2008 season IMO he was unquestionably the best full-back in SL (I never understood the calls for slow-coach Wellens), and it was worth breaking GH's much vaunted salary structure to keep hold of (if true). After the injury he never quite hit the same heights as an attacking player, and often seemed tentative in returning the ball. His passing game never left him (despite the odd forward one), but I think his frustration with not being able to do the same things as he could pre-injury came out in him being a bit more petulant (or maybe we just noticed it more as he wasn't running the length of the field as much).
Either way, I'd agree that he's been the best overseas full-back Leeds have had in the modern era. Just a shame that things have ended as they have, with injury, suspension and poor form at the back end of his Leeds career.
Webby has been a fantastic servant for the Rhinos, He has certainly had his best years in the Blue and Amber and although he leaves with our best wishes, it's also probably 12 months too late
I hope that the change of club will invigorate him next season and injuries permitting i wouldn't be surprised to see him perform to a higher standard each week than we have seen these past 2 seasons
