McGuire obviously not fully recovered from injury. The medical report for next season should decide the longer term. Robby gives everything and always has and had a good final. Just hope the management have the nouse to make the correct decision.

We met up with some really good Leeds fans in the Weatherspoons in Feltham after the game on Saturday, and had a good general rugby chat.

We said we couldn't understand why Burrow didn't start the game. They were scathing in their comments on Brian McDermott. One of the fans said that when Wigan went 16 points up he was hoping that Wigan would score 60 to get rid of him.

Rob was by far your best player on Saturday. I've met him a few times and always found him excellent company.

Good luck in the play offs, another Wigan v Leeds game would certainly prove interesting.

I understand the reason for having Burrow on the bench. It gives us an extra rotation forward and good speed around the ruck.

In itself its quite a good tactic and I think Burrow has been playing better in that position.

I think unfortunately our pack has struggled at time to get us that quick PTB and i think at times we havent looked great at taking advantage of it. I think our forwards have lacked a bit of dynamism. None of our forwards look capable of making or taking advantage of a break, Wigans forwards looked much much more likely to make a break than us.

Was it McGuire's pass to Hall for his try or was it someone else? Was it McGuire whose quick hands had a part in the first try? None of the play makers covered themselves in glory on Saturday and in that I include all three. Burrow made an impact for 20 minutes in the first half in the second he was easily controlled. McGuire's tackling in the first half was grim but it improved in the second half but he still looks slow compared what he was before the injury - talking of slow Sinfield's kicking close to the line - did he force one repeat set?

I did mean to come on earlier and mention McGuire's two try making passes...but time got the better of me and you beat me to it.


Hopefully McGuire will regain his speed and form of 2010... [uand[/u learn how to tackle

....either way he is still a valuable member of the squad.

Bottom line is no player should be assured of automatic election: ask Smith.

McGuire's defence is a concern right now. He was never the best defender but his technique seems to be getting worse. Hopefully its just another sign that he's still not fully confident in his leg and a good off-season will see him back to last year's form. I certainly wouldn't think at all about discarding him until he has that time to fully recover, but at the moment I suspect every opposition coach has him targeted - especially close to our line.
