Quote ="Wiggin Uber Alles"I think you can compare it to the banter you would see the other side of the fence on friday night, you have some trading of fun views, and by and large, people take it and give it back and everyone has a laugh.
The mega serious posters will generally see that a thread is designed to be playful, and if they only like mega serious posting, will tend to leave it alone.
My recollection was there was a forum grass, who was so offended by someone daring to offer banter, he appealed to the lad running the site to close it off, where it was made clear to the lad it were just fun, and if he had such moral objections and wanted to post mega serious threads there were some 1000 such threads open for him, but he continued to act as a grass, as if the sites had to be tailored to his exact requests.
The leader lad, as I said on the Wiggin board, seemed to like this, I cant tell for sure, but it just seemed he wanted to try and show authority with the delete button, hence the point that those controls only extend to here, and you will note the fun is not nasty in any way, even when we are "allowed" to trade playful exchanges, as would be reasonably concluded by the reaction to someone daring to mention that we sought revenge and were out to get it Friday, laced with traditional Rugby league inter club fan rivalry.
I found this strange for a board seeking fun, and having one clearly playful thread would be in order for most boards, that was my opinion, but its just fun at the end of the day, there is not a malicious intent of any sort in the banter, I have many many people I know who are Rhino, Saints, Wire fans and we all have a lot of fun trading banter.
Its a good board this though, a lot of knowledgeable posters on it.'"
