Reports in Australia have suggested he is homesick and keen for a return to his former club Canterbury, but McClennan said: "He has been fine.
"It was hard for Greg when he got here, because he's a young man, single and it's hard at first for any young fella. The longer he's been here, the better he's got.
"He came over here with an injury sustained in the Four Nations, then copped the same injury on his other hand and now he has another long-term injury.
"It is the nightmare of professional players and it's a real shame because he was flying along and doing really well.
"All players get a bit down when they are injured, but he's handling it really well and is looking after himself.

It's been a long time coming. Apparently,he didn't want to come at the start of the year but was politely reminded of his obligations and was threatened with legal action.
