I get asked by non RL enthusiasts how much Super League players get paid and I am afraid to say I can never give a definitive answer (I suppose because there isn't such a thing as an average wage). There never seems to be figure discussed in the media or public domain about rugby league salaries (probably because they pale into insignificance compared to the sport played with the wrong shaped balls).
What is a likely wage for a regular 1st teamer with say the experience of JP, Senior, Sinfield Webb etc compared to that of say Burgess or younger 1st teamers?
Incidentally, I used to work for a well known telephone bank ten years ago in Leeds and James Lowes was a customer, and I knew what his monthly take home pay was (which, due to my own personal integrity I am not going to divulge!) but that was ten years ago and a lot has changed since then.
Sorry for my ramblings but I am using this as a reason to avoid work (which is not in a hell-hole called First Direct anymore).
