I think it also goes to show that at the start of the season there are surprise results when the majority of the first seventeens are available throughout the league and where conditions can be less than favourable.
The shame is as the grounds firm up and injuries kick in the teams with the bigger squads tend to rise to the top and the gap becomes all too evident again.
That said I think we are in for a cracking season with Bradford, Warrington and Hull pressing hard to join the existing top eight from last season with only Harlequins, Salford and Crusaders making up the numbers.
