It was possible. She was due back in at RAF Lyneham at 5.30 today after carrying out her final public display of the season at Southport.

Nice easy fix for me this weekend as she displayed at the Lincolnshire Lancaster Association's Open Day at RAF Coningsby on the journey North.



Not a Vulcan event so just for a change from today's event.

The 'howl' is generated by the air resonating in the intakes when the engines are run at full chat. Whether you hear it as good as that day depends very much on where you are standing though. I love the audible sigh from one of the viewers at thirteen seconds, that sums it up quite nicely for me.

It's been a great season with only two 'no show' events (AFAIK) and neither of those were down to serviceability of the aircraft (one weather and one paperwork) so onwards and upwards to 2010.

Anyone got a spare £2.5 million down the back of their sofa?
