I must have watched most of John's games for Leeds and admired his skills greatly. I am not wanting to know his private medical infomation I was just asking out of concern for his welfare. To post bad news without correct information will only lead to "uniformed speculation" Are we to assume that all the post on this thread are in the dark also?

Over to the club to mark the passing of a true Leeds legend.

I have just got in from work and seen the tragic news on BBC ceefax. I am at a loss - probably the same feeling I had when Billy Bremner passed away. The term legend is used too easily these days - John Holmes was not only a rugby league legend he was a true gentleman and had the time of day for anyone.

My condolences to John's family at this very sad time.

God bless you John and thank you for the happy memories that you have left behind.
