Quote ="Richie Ramrod"In three years time will Celtic have a home grown Welsh contingent regularly playing RL which enables the Welsh people to form a connection to the club based on the fact they are a Welsh club, with Welsh players and not a scrap heap for garbage NRL rejects and SL players who arent good enough to get a gig anywhere else?
I dont think so.'"
And Halifax field a team exclusively made up of Calderdale players? Said, Frank and Dana have that real 'local' connection. Players couldn't cut it in SL? Dwayne Barker anyone? At least Ben Black isn't a NRL reject (Queensland Cup reject but not NRL).
Do you honestly believe Fax would 'go local' if they were awarded a franchise? If you want the game to grow, franchises like the Crusaders are the way forward, overdue, but still the way forward.
