When McGuire kicked forward the clock read 79:45, when Shenton picked it up the clock read 79:51, when the penalty was awarded and Leeds elected to take the two the clock stopped at 79:57.
Shenton should have taken a step back and let McGuire
attempt to regather before tackling him. Leeds would have had one play the ball maximum to win the game. Nice to see Shenton winning games for Leeds without the need to actually have him on the books.
