I think reading between the lines people would like the club to bring in some form of a marque player. I think sometimes this comes from jealousy of other clubs bringing in big name acts. For me as long as we have cover do we need to sign players on? Also do we need marque players or people who will do the job that is required? Look at the signing of Poaching. A lot questioned it but he did the job that was required. However, if we were to get s Burgess from down the road I don't think I'd moan
Quote="Norman Stanley Fletcher"I thought this a post that I'd never have to write but we need to bring in one or maybe two quality signings or the next period in our history will look very bleak indeed.
This isn't a knee jerk reaction or a hark back to the pre-summer era but a valid point.
The writing was on the wall pre season and if anyone still believes we've got what it takes with what's available then please tell me how.'"

I'm checking all these "historical documents" to make sure I've not made a t!t of myself. Thankfully this is my only contribution. Not particularly helpful to the thread, but safe enough.
Sometimes you have to eat a little bit of humble pie I suppose.
TBH at the time I posted that thread it looked as though we were going to be on our ar$es but hey! I'm only human and I'm not the only culprit.
I'll always hold my hand up if I'm wrong BUT the crystal ball aint working as well as it used to and in one sense the signing of Delaney,Pitts,Amor etc has justified my original question in part.
