we missed Burrows guile. His loss seemed to throw the side for a while.Webb was also a big miss. lee Smith is developing into a fantastic player and shuffling him into the centres to accomodate webbs return will only make us stronger. I thought bailey was feeling the effects of last weeks knock he fell off a few tackles. Kudos to Senior though he still looks head and shoulders above any British centre pace power and skill, his int. retirement can only be good for Leeds. Plaudits to the convicts, that 10 min spell won them the game.
oh and finally the ref what a joke determined to stay in the spotlight and not let the game flow the penalty count must have been something of a record. If he wants to hear the constant sound of the whistle and his own voice off and ref union.
Manly were superb for 50 minutes and had they been 3 games into their season I feel they would have won by more.
As it was Leeds players showed pride in the shirt and stuck at the task despite conceding 3 times in 6 minutes after half time. It could have been embarrassing but it wasnt.
Dont the Aussies use the availability of players as a disclaimer when they lose these games?
My mate was the minder for Manly the last two days (as he has been for the Aussies the last 4). He said this lot were totally diiferent in attitude. Totally focussed, tunnel vision.

I think that's des hasler's way of doing things and he's built this squad over the last 4/5 years so there's plenty of togetherness and professinalism about them.
