2006/07 i slagged Lee Smith off and he proved me wrong in the end
2008/09 i've doubted Hall and said he cut inside to much but again proving me wrong.

I was also sceptic of Hall but I never called him terrible!

I have said for years that Hall was overrated and that he would never make a top winger. Anyway im very happy he has proven me wrong and this season he is the best all round winger in SL IMO. He is great in defence and is usually solid under the bomb (Whiting try not totally his fault tonight) and has put on a lot of speed. Add this to his power and the fact he nearly always beats the 1st man and I think we have a star of the future. Anyway, its about time we had big good wingers over here

I would have happily let JJB go around 2002/03. Since then I've tried not to be too harsh on young players. Sadly I'm more often wrong the other way round - being disappointed by how players turn out (starting for me with Mark Conway circa 1982, so my list is sadly quite long).

Ablett hasn't made it yet. Still too many penalties and needs to break the line more.Last night was down to crap defence.

IIRC he was the first left footed goalkicker I remember seeing.

Oh and slagging players off is overrated, you wouldn't catch me doing it....

I would say that 2 GF medals, and a consistent place in the first 17 for a top 2 team is making it.

He does have faults in his game though.

Like Mr Brisbane, I was very critical of JJB in the early days. Having been made to look more than slightly foolish for that, I try, when I am thinking properly, to avoid making the same mistakes again.
