No. The bottom line is there is no location anywhere which would be agreeable to both parties. For Castleford, it has to be IN Castleford, but for Wakefield that's unacceptable so we left deadlocked. No matter how cleverly you design the interior or split the functionality, the bottom line is we'd never ever agree on where to build it.


As I understand it, it was Wakey's hope that the Council would build them a stadium west of the city centre but (again, as I understand it) it has never been the case that Castleford's stadium would be paid for with public money. The Tigers have done a deal with WMDC which allows the Council to incorporate a number of facilities [uwhich they would have had to provide anyway[/u into the design of the new stadium, but that is quite different from the Council financing our stadium. Ultimately it actually [isaves[/i the Council money rather than costing them.

Let's be under no illusions here. While Wakey have ummed an ahhed over Durkar, Ossett, Thornes Park and god knows what else, Castleford have been quietly working away on the Glasshoughton Project. Years of work is now nearing fruition for Cas, and there is no way on earth that they will walk away from it at this stage, purely to back Wakey's proposed dream at Stanley.

The new ground at Methley does not belong to WTW presumably they will pay rent if it ever gets built and likewise Cas if they cannot get a new ground either, they would pay rent assuming the worst came to the worst and both clubs have to share, which makes your post a bit silly really. i would sooner we put all our eggs in one basket and go for our own stadium rather than share with wakefield. i still believe the potential share suits wakefield's needs more than ours. and i believe our stadium will go ahead at least 12 months before wakefiels. therefore, go ahead with our own plans and if wakey goes belly up so beit, cas will be stronger for it!

I try not to get involved in this who will get a ground first competition if I can help it. sometimes it gets a bit difficult with posters like him deliberatly trying to cause mischief. I honestly did not know that the ground had been sold as I have said because there is a lot of prevaricating goes off on these two boards until its been built I take no notice I only defend my club as you do yourself. I am genuinly pleased for you as I have said before whatever the rivalry between the two clubs I prefer a couple of thousand plus Cas fans than a couple of hundred from Widnes or even less from toulouse. Lets hope we all get what we wish for except Widnes ofcourse.

You will have no arguments there from me chissit, there are some from both clubs that would like to see the other fail, but at the end of the day i'm an rl fan and i want all rl clubs to be as strong as possible, so i'm hoping that both wakey and cas can get a new ground, along with all the other temas like salford, swinton and haven that are trying to get new grounds built.
