Nope, far better and an Aussie. The only problem is with nothing being agreed Hull FC may take him if Agar gets fired mid-season.

I wouldn't be, it's just a throw away line to get hits and create debate, it will be 1 up 1 down.
Also, even the RFL aren't dumb enough to throw a team out up the top end of the table, so if the lads keep it up then they wont.

I doubt that but can envisage a scenario where it might now be the case.
What if Widnes's bid is not as good as Halifax's and it's inferiority would be apparent under the spotlight of any legal challenge? Would the RFL run scared, award Fax the first license and select Widnes in July at the expense of 2 current SL clubs. Excluding both Wakey and Crusaders for entering administration would appear equitable and avoid the possibility of a challenge by whichever of the two might have been the single club to be chopped.

| If the RFL are to keep any credibility then both Cas and Wakey should go, both have had letters about the state of there grounds and the RFL have stated that any grounds not ready by 2012 will not be taken into consideration. So however much spin is put on it by dickie Wright the bottom line is GH will not be taken into consideration. Leigh have a superb new stadium, as do Widnes, as for the Shay if the remedials are completed in time for July they have a great facility. They have also stated that the 2 clubs that miss out today will be assessd along with the other super league clubs. If i was a cas fan i would be very worried

| I thought it was very interesting on boots n all that the Widnes chairman gave alot of focus on their licence app to the youth development that the club had done and that this was very important to the RFL. Halifax's mentioned their stadium and community work but nothing about youth system and this is where I think they are weak.
Yes we all know we fail on the stadium side but other than that IMO we are stronger in all other areas. If we get kicked out purely on the stadium then the whole process is a farce (which we know it is anyway) and we may as well not play against each other on the field but have the final league table listed in order of nicest stadium !!

No, if the RFL were to have any credabillity they would get rid of 2 of Wakey and Crusaders. I'm not like a lot of people on here who wish ill of Wakey and to be honest it's a massive shame whats happened over there IMO but surely the 2 clubs who deserve to be relegated are the 2 sides who have been in administration in the last 3 years (crusaders twice F F S)?
I dont know why people have any hostillity towards Widnes or Fax infact i think they both deserve licenses. But if Cas are thrown out before Crusaders i'd love to see how it's going to be justified.

Well that shows what a farce it is really.
I dont think any games should be played next season, teams should just be awarded on how nice the seats are in the ground and the playing surface.
Then for the Grand Final just get Eddie and Stevo to taste a burger at each of the grounds to decide the winner

No, making stadia requirements the single most important criterion would make the sport a laughing stock.

| The only reason administration has been dropped is because Crusaders went in to it. They don't wanna lose them as they really think it will kick off in farm country. Just like it has in London as we can see from attendances.

Then you just haven't been paying attention. 1 license will be announced in an hour and a half or so for the guaranteed spot for a championship club. Today's unsuccessful clubs will then have their bids assessed alongside the 14 bids from current SL clubs for the 13 remaining spots: 15 clubs bidding for 13 places. The result come July could be anything between one new club in and one out to three new clubs in and three out.
****
And if we're going to rehash the 'who's going down' arguments then yes, we are at risk. Along with every other Grade C club. However, those iwth the biggest obvious holes in the bids are clubs warned over ground plans (Wakey and Salford, though Salford seem to have stolen a march and moved out of the danger zone if their current build is likely to be completed by the start of next season), the club that was warned over attendance (Quins) and the two clubs that have gone into administration (Wakey and Crusaders).
All those clubs have serious weaknesses in their bids. The question is whether they'll be fatal weaknesses. Looking from outside with no particular knowledge, I'm quietly confident that the rest of our bid should be enough to see us granted a licence this year. But there's certainly no guarantee. The only clubs that can be sure of getting a licence are those awarded A or B licenses last time.

We'll probably never get the clubs to tell us why they voted* for it but I suspect that a) the financial crash of 2008 and subsequent recession and b) the potential looming problems of HMRC's image rights calims would have been more of a consideration than Crusaders' woes.
* or indeed how they voted, either on the administration rule or the decision to keep SL at 14 clubs for 2012-14, knowing that that would mean one of them going down to the championship.

| Just a quick question not sure if anyone can answer however......
when the RFL are looking at attendances do they look at the numbers through the gate or the revenue generated by the gate. The reason I ask is that Brian Carney stated on sky that Crusaders had given out 1500 Free Tickets for thier home game and the total attendance was somewhere in the region of 3k (can't remember which game he was refering to ) Therefore does the RFL look at total attendance or paying spectators.
Also on another note people seem to be convinced that Wakey and Cas are in danger however the RFL warned quins last season that they needed to start improving their attendances otherwise this would effect their licence application and their attendances seem to be dropping.

The only change was that a team in Admin cant be automatically booted out and that ENTERING Admin wouldnt count against a team in there license application. (so the RFL dont loose there loan) They still have to look at the books for the last 3 years regardless of whats gone on, which will hinder both Wakey and Crusaders I would imagine.
