| Like there was a part of me that wanted Wakefield's plans to go belly up to smite the imbiciles polluting the RLFans forums, there's a part of me that wants our own plans to go the same way just to smite some of our own idiots.
Fortunately the majority of me wants what's best for the sport as a whole, and Wakefield's news today isn't good for the game. I can understand Cas fans being happy this disadvantages Wakefield in the licence race, but we should be focusing on our own plans, not relishing the failure of others and I certainly hope Richard Wright has left the cork in the champagne today and is getting on with getting our own future secured.

Shocking standard for away fans? I take it you mean the western terrace at Headingley? which is not just for away fans but home fans too. Away fans can buy tickets for wherever they like in the ground, not just the western terrace.
The western terrance has it currently is though is still a thousand times better than any stand available at Belle Vue, even without a roof.
It's jelous knumbnuts like you that make me very smug today that it's bye bye Wakefield for future super leagues. I just hope Vastman rots with it, then it will be a really good time.

| Agree wholeheartedly we are no where near out of the woods. but nah ive taken some garbage from wakey fans and the pitch invasion when we went down last time was the thing that cemented my hatred of the club and its supporters. along with the rantings and smug attitude of, not some but a big portion of their posters on here.......i will gladly sit back and watch them melt into oblivion.

| Well I'm just on my way over to belle view with a couple of boxes of razor blades and stanley knifes, I think i could make a nice few quid for christmas.
But on a more seriouse note it is a sad day for the true wakey fans and i can't help but feel for them but on the other side of that my mind goes back to the louts that were baying for our blood and oh so ready to mock us on that faitfull day not so long ago on our darkest day and i soon feel much better about things.
Also I can't put into words how happy I am to see Mr Walker come out of this with nothing to show for his 150+k that he put in to the club out of the goodness of his heart not so long ago. I don't know what his motive was on backing this project and i am not going to speculate but i don't think i will stop laughing at his misfortune for a very long time.

You sound like a really good human being. Glad I don't know you. There are many decent Wakey fans, we're not all offensive.
Hope you get a good nights sleep and not spend it thinking of more offensive comments to make.

| Going to post this here because I am trying hard to keep away from the mud-slinging and these are genuine questions.
I know some of your posters will know the answers to these questions.
Are you submitting a reserved matters application for GH or is it going to be a full planning application because the original permission lacked sufficent detail at outline and/or stadium designs have sufficiently changed to require a full application?
Either way, getting planning permission is a formality, but obviously if it can be dealt with under delegated powers under a reserved matters application it will be much quicker!
So, if a reserved matters application then you are looking at end of Feb for planning and if full, and therefore it goes before the committee, end of March/April would be more likely would you think?
So earliest start on site would be March/April and maybe June/July, so is the best possible plan to get the contracts signed before your SL application goes in? What is the club line on start and completion... or are they keeping it quiet?
Actually, better questions, what is the projected build programme from start to occupation?

| Good God, this is Cas Tigers you are talking about.
We are all kept in the dark and out of the loop by the powers that be as much as possible.
To answer all you questions : Your guess is as good as ours.

If we listen to Richard Wright, we'll be playing in it sometime around 2008.
Best bet is to wait and see. FPP is meant to be a formality, I guess it'll happen if it happens.

| I understand it to be a reserved matters application.
Start date is April with build time 40 odd weeks.

It appears I understood it more than than you thought. That said the delays are nothing to celebrate about, I will only be happy sat in the GH Stadium.

| Reading his posts, mainly on the Wakey forum, he is obviously a Whino fan involved in the construction industry. He may be hoping for a few nice contracts to bid for if GH and more importantly NM go ahead.

Thanks fully, if all goes to plan that means contracts could be signed prior to the application being submitted to the RFL and certainly before the July announcements.
That would put you in and playing in the new ground mid 2012 season, which sounds a good shout.

I was totally right though and it was most certainly the answer... it was not the answer Wakefield or I hoped for but as I eluded to, the 22nd and the 28 days (although I know they requested and extension beyond that) was important!

Just interested to know what the details and current proposed time frames were as, given I am in the construction industry, it is useful to know this sort of information for my network, but as I work in a smaller more niche market sector (but growing!) within the industry, it is just for givers gain reasons really!

It is formality and will probably just be handled under delegated powers (unless there is something that has changed or conditions that are not being discharged fully... which I doubt). The biggest discussion on GH is likely to centre around the materials choices and the number of urinals... no more!

I learnt yesterday that there is a board, unlike RL Fans in general I am pleased to say, where your comments would go down a storm judging by what I have briefly seen and clearly I am revelling in minor celebrity status... now I know I have one... on board I didn't even know existing! They would love you over there!!! That said, maybe I am being harsh on you, at least you have the minerals to post this comment here...
I could answer you (and you will find it already if you look) but I suspect you don't really care? If you do, PM me and I will tell you all you need to know.

| This is sad and I would hate to be in the Wakey fans position right now! After the scenes of celebration on look north when they recieved the go ahead from the council some of them seemed to think it was a done deal but all the while there were those on the outside warning that this would be called in by Pickles and so it has. The Wakey BOD cant honestly expect their fans to believe that this is a suprise to them after all of the opposition from various quarters not to mention the misgivings from other fans or did they honestly think that because their future depends on better facilities that the powers that be would turn a blind eye to the green belt issue and complaints from residents and Leeds city council? From an outsiders point of view it looks as though this was a huge roll of the dice from the Wakey BOD.
This is not the end of the road for Wakey as they can still ground share with barnsley (or dare I say Cas) and meet the RFL criteria that way I suppose but Whatever the plan B is they better get moving fast.
