Deep down, no Castleford fan would have expected us to be top four at the end of the season, regardless. We just enjoyed being on the crest of the wave. What was more amusing was seeing other fans turning against us and loathing us being there. It wasn't the fact we were playing well - we just had "easy" games, or the sides we played didn't turn up. Very bitter.

Nevertheless, what I do know is that our poor performances of late have stemmed from a growing injury list meaning we're playing more kids and poor refereeing decisions. We'll be back.

We do have cover for injuries - when they are across a nmber of positions. Unfortunately, we've had injuries to three of our frontline props, which has knacked our pack completely.

We're missing arguably our best forward in Huby, our best forward youngster in Walker and also the experience of Nick Fozzard.

Please explain how Jackson and Emmitt can compete with Leuluai, Burgess, Peacock, Cross and Kirke? They can't. We lost the forward battle, Leeds had more go forward and that's why we lost.

It'd be like Huddersfield losing Griffin, Patrick and O'Donnell and being left with Crabtree and Mason.

Neither Crusaders or Catalans played particularly well, it was just Huddersfield were poor and weren't at their best.

we have lost 1 unexpected game so what slide? Cas fans knew we would struggle against leeds saints and and our next opponents wire. Wakey is our only suprising loss. By the way does that mean you are on a slide because we have both lost 4?

Cas might slip away this season but I've seen enough to know Cas are gonna be up near the top in the coming years. Great young crop of players. Good coach. Quality club.

Not sure which wing he plays on, but I think you're really missing Youngquest. Owen is over-eager and needs to hang back a tad - he's bombed at least 4 tries that I've seen by keeping too flat to his inside man. And I'd also be worried by Chases loss of effectiveness - is he a bit miffed 'cos Danny Orr (most underestimated player in SL?) is running the show?

Not sure on the Chase comment. I just think personally that teams are giving him a lot more attention.

I'd keep Owen in and put him on right wing and Youngquest on left wing

Sad thing is, it doesn't sound like any of our injured players are going to be back any time soon.

Walkers was more long term but must nearly be ready to get back into the squad.

I think Youngquest & Isa for Warrington and Walker another 3 weeks.

Rumour is chase is also injured...shoulder ligaments.
He could be out for a while if its a bad one. Lets hope its just a niggle and the next couple of weeks rest will see him right for warrington.
