All seems reasonable to me:

There is an investigation in law ongoing - therefore that is being respected with privacy and that is right and proper.

Secondly, regardless of if Richie is charged (which he isnt yet and being charged is still an acre away from being convicted or in fact guilty bear in mind) he has admitted and the club have sanctioned him becuase guilty or not, he has breached a proprtion of his responsibilities and as such a sanction is warranted.

Without judging on the rights and wrongs, I have had my say on the thread already abotu this - I fail to see in a society that has an innocent until proven guilty justice system what anyone else wants to see? Civic justice is doing its thing, but regardless of that the club has moved quickly to punish a player and he has moved quickly to be contrite and apologise and say as much as he can for the moment.

Seems a very positive position at the moment, door still open if some allegation is proved for further action/statement. End of story.

BTW:- I wonder what username "G.Price Sandal Wildcat Fan Club" is using these days!!

He was using trinitarianwf2 but since i pointed out it was obvious it was still him using a different name he hasn't been on since.

I think you've summed it up well; the club appear to have done everything they can reasonably do at this stage.

As for the bit in bold - has anyone called for anything more? I don't see a great deal of moralistic outrage about this case and from what I've read, apart from reasonable comments about the follishness of young men in drink, there doesn't seem to be a mob baying for blood.

It reminds me a bit of our own handling of the Gregg Johnson case last season; he was subject to a police investigation and rightly, the club didn't apply any sanctions until that investigation was concluded - when it was and it found him guilty of a serious assault, he was dismissed.

I must be holier then, because I haven't done any of those things.

It's not that it isn't in me. I'm a big lad. I know how to handle myself. I got in to plenty of dust ups playing rugby, but not in public and not because I was worse for drink. Never taken drugs (apart from over counter for man flu), certainly never had an affair, and drink driving is the worsed of the lot. We have some recent examples of how that can wreck lives in the rugby league community.

I'm not special, but my parents raised a kid who knows right from wrong.

I'm not saying that in relation to Owen's case, but it is in relation to a justification of 'everybody does it so isn't so bad'

I can see the reason that you're being so aggressive - I'm highlighting the fact that the reaction to this incident on our board is being grossly misrepresented by some people and you don't like it; there's no need for personal attacks though, or for circumventing the swear filter, which I believe is against the AUP.

Some of the comments on this thread have irritated me though; there certainly is a lot of needle between Cas and WTW fans, that's all par for the course and good fun, but to suggest that we've been hyper-critical of Owen or 'holier than thou' as some people have put it, is just plain wrong. I like needle, but the overblown sense that everyone is anti-Cas on every issue is just silly and I thought it was ok to challenge that.

Equally, the reason I started posting on the Hull board is because some people insisted on repeating the nonsense that Richard Agar was involved in the drugs scandal/cover-up at their club; plainly he wasn't, so I challenged that.
