I am sure Hull FC/KR fans would disagree if they both started to play out of the KC?

| seems to me that the only logical step is to share ground.
then after franchise ground will have one team in SL and one in the championship.

Easiest solution for me - one end black, one lengthways stand amber, the other white, the other end blue.
Cas have black, amber and white in their 'colours'; white and blue are in Wakey's and blue is also a nice neutral colour for away supporters.

| Just a thought:
If wakey share with us who pays for the stadium, as I understand their stadium is being largely funded by the development company who want to put up all the warehousing?
Likewise if we share with them some of our investment is by Waystone.
I can't see either of the developers wanting to invest in the others project.
Anyway common sense says Glasshoughton site however since when has common sence ever prevailed in WMDC

| Quote ="binks"Disagree as the kids who will support the club when us old boys are no more will not have the sentiment for the old club that we have ( Again look at West Tigers / St George Illawarra )
Agree that i feel the Nm project is a non starter as Leeds City council alone have scuppered that plan and Central Gov will see land available 4 Miles away thats not green belt why would they have a bun fight over NM
This is still my pref option i would love both clubs get a ground , Its just im not opposed to Plan b or C if thats what it takes'"
Who's going to take those kids to watch matches? I'm sure you like myself started going to matches when your father/uncle/grandad etc took you, since the day my nephews were born i've been looking forward to taking them to games one of them is now nearly old enough and as long as cas tigers still exist (and not as a feeder club) i will take them to games as will many more. If we merge we dont just lose thousands of supporters from each club (and more than likely end up with less than both clubs had to begin with) but you lose thousands of future supporters.
I dont know how people get this idea that a merged club would start winning trophies it wouldnt have anymore than either club has now as it wont have anymore supporters than either club has now.

| Hmmm... very interesting developments today.
IF (big if) this independent review really is fair and open, there can only be one choice to take forward. Should Newmarket be selected with all it's problems and objections over Glasshoughton then there clearly will have been a massive injustice done. Trying to compare the two projects at this moment in time is just silly - there simply is no comparison.
Sure, it opens up a whole new worm canning factory with respect to franchise apps, merger, how the share works, who owns what, etc.. but as far as the first hurdle goes, it MUST be Glasshoughton, simple as that.

| There seems to be an assumption that a groundshare guarantees the SL status of both clubs. Since the RL have already stated a current SL club will be dumped to make way for a new club who will get the boot if its not Wakey or Cas? Anyone see one of the RL's golden boys (Quins, Cats & Cetic) being relegated? I don't. Salford? Not likely if their new stadium is up and running.
My fear is that one of us will still be demoted to the Championship and its clear the RL would like it to be Cas.
I'm afraid we could be in a groundshare in the lower division and as the poor relations to a SL Wakey we'd end up either as Wakey's feeder club or in a merger.
I support Cas, always have, always will. I'd rather Cas were at Wheldon Rd in the 2nd or 3rd tier than this.

| If the stadium gets the go ahead to be built in glasshoughton.
Then when the franchises get given out, cas are kicked out of SL wakefield stay in.
What then.
Wakefield fans will be in up roar having to travel to cas to watch SL while cas play in NL1, if it was the other way round i wouldn't be happy at all.
Whata mess the whole debacle is.

Newmarket will have to go to the secretary of state if the council approves the application as it goes against the Government Policies on Development in the Green Belt:
OL1: WITHIN THE GREEN BELT, DEVELOPMENT WILL NOT BE PERMITTED EXCEPT IN VERY SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES FOR PURPOSES OTHER THAN AGRICULTURE, FORESTRY, OUTDOOR PARTICIPATORY SPORTS AND RECREATION, CEMETERIES, OR OTHER USES APPROPRIATE TO A RURAL AREA.
OL2: DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE GREEN BELT WILL NOT BE PERMITTED IF IT WOULD DETRACT FROM THE OPEN CHARACTER OR VISUAL AMENITIES OF A PARTICULAR GREEN BELT LOCATION BY REASONS OF ITS PHYSICAL SCALE OR INTENSITY OF USE, INCLUDING MATTERS OF SITING, DESIGN AND CHOICE OF MATERIALS.

So WTWC groundshare at GH for a couple of years and then Ted stumps up the money for them to build somewhere else - I could live with that

Is RL not an outdoor participatory sport -given the stadium at newmarket would be available for local finals and there would be additional sports pitches involved.
This whole green belt situation is a joke, its a former pit site that is now used for illegal fly tipping. It is almost certainly going to be re-classified in 2013 anyway. The government won't want to spend money they haven't got on a public enquiry.
The way I see it GH is only ahead of NM because you have outline planning approved. If and I accept its a big if at the moment, planning is approved for NM, then in theory there is no problem to it proceeding. I doubt you would be able to fit all the community facilities planned for newmarket at GH because the footprint for there is not likely to be big enough

That would depend on who puts the weakest bid in for the next Franchise, its seems to me as a outsider if you like, that some Cas fans feel the RFL would like to get rid.
I just don't see it.
