He is a Rugby player with a short career, he has only a limited time to earn money from the game.

I suspect we offered him £175 a week and a Mars bar, at Hull he will earn a very good wage.

Well, it is not often on this forum we call it right, but I am pleased that this facade is done now.

Money and a public clamour for his affections was the objective of this whole parade: Not having a pop at Ellis, I would do the same - but I said it before, if he wanted to sort himself out fuss free with a club his heart desierd, he would have had his people ring Richie Wright, done a deal having cleared it privately with Wests.

By coming out and publically saying he didn't want a fuss and his heart said blah blah..... he created a clamour in the market to test his value and then cashed in that value - for those claiming to know the ins and outs of who offered most, you are incorrect.

Absolutely perfect piece of business by a fabulous comodity and rightly he should cash in on his value and look after his family - I have no criticism of him; but for those romantic individuals who had him already in black and amber and it was "our signing to lose" I think you are a little naive.

I don't think anyone lied, it was mostly the romantic notions of others getting ahead of themselves.

Ellis, by creating the furore has manufactured the perfect scenario for himself and the only people who lose out are Cas, becuase he can say "Hull had the ambition and vision to bring me here over my heart strings" when actually I would love a wallet full of ambition and vision; reversely implying that Cas had neither.

When in actual fact if Ambition, Vision and Winning trophies is what you really wanted, he could have signed for Leeds, reigning champios, CC finalists and WCC winners - so if anyone is buying this "not about money guano" have a word with yourself.

Spot on - he may well not have gone to the club offering the highest salary, but there are plenty of other ways to sweeten an offer of employment that quite frankly, Leeds and certainly Cas, don't have access to; he's gone for the deal that offered him the best terms and that's fine and dandy - I've done the same myself twice in recent years and would do the same again, as would virtually everyone else if they've got any sense.

Having heard it from the coach and our CEO, I disagree. I think what happened was correct and I would have done exactly the same.
