I'm sure that thinking would have applied to Wakey's bid had SL not decided to review their membership criteria in the light of Crusader's predicament. In that respect Wakey have dropped lucky but few would argue that they are less deserving of such good fortune than the Welsh club. I suspect any resentment Widnes way won't fester for long with their license already in the bag. |

Although it's a bit of chicken and egg situation, because the HMRC wouldn't have pulled the plug on tax arrangements had the Crusaders not gone into admin, and so maybe we wouldn't have done. So maybe lucky in that a new investor will come in sooner rather than later, although admin doesn't look as good on your CV. Then again, neither does dwindling crowds and finishing bottom, which would have happened if there had been no change of regime. |
