The players will be knackered with the extra games?, who decides where the extra games are played?.
Apologies if I am wrong but am I right in thinking you could get relegated with more points than teams below you?
Think its a terrible plan the game is destroying itself from within

Its been destroying itself from within since 96, the licence system as been the biggest farce iv ever known, i would love to know just what a team would have to do to get booted out. Wakey fans there forum moaning its unjust. They have had millions more than us as you have from the game, they have had 6 years exempt from relegation as you have to build some infrastructure, those years have been criminally wasted. You and wakey are wanting to use Rovers training facilities because they blind your own. Your both putting big statements out when you put new windows in an office, Rovers have put 2 new stands up. the gravy train is stopping and were all back in the mix and we cant wait

In your bitterness you fail to see how this disadvantages clubs like yourselves, your going to be in a mini league with teams that have far better resources and preparation than yourselves(see my post on the wakey board). A modified version of the traditional one up one down (or two if possible) is a lot fairer to the Championship clubs. Throw into the mix that Toulouse are seeking a back door into SL for 2015 the chances of seeing Fev in SL in the next 5 years are slim to say the least.

| We definitely voted for the restructure. Extra revenue for a mediocre season when normally it would die out on its rear.

Wind your neck in Dong.
I have always being in favour of P & R, and it would have been successful if the R.F.L had put plans in place to assist both promoted & relegated sides. I too despair at all that money which has all too frequently ended up being spent on average players and their agents)
Good luck to you if you make it to the top table, no doubt your players will want a wage hike if you get there and the 3k or so stay at home Rovers fans will suddenly reappear to pay for it.

Stop miss quoting me. I'm talking about central funding from Sky money, bigger playing budget and access to better commercial revenue from been at the top table. Thats what any Championship club has to overcome it's sort of like an invisible draw bridge put up. I fail to see anything special at Fev to overcome them long odds, you choke at the prospect of beating a fellow championship team in on off play final never mind getting best the best of SL clubs in a mini league system.
Don't be so defensive and wise up, it's an unfair system designed to keep clubs like yourselves from the top table.

| it's all excitement and happiness now but, to be fair, the professional teams will beat the amateur ones over 7 games.
The problem is, Featherstone are dong great but it's basically just a street. There's only so far their fan base can grow when they're suffocated by professional teams

| Glad franchising has gone, would prefer 1 up 1 down with a years exemption from relegation for the promoted team myself. The new structure is far better than franchising which made the sport in this country exceptionally boring. Can't see much movement between the leagues however but at least every club can get to the top league on the field which is what sport is about. One thing that's a pure joke is the championship club getting an extra home game .... How can you reward being in a lower division :s

Agreed on the first bit. Thats why I would favour traditional P/R with a years grace for the promoted club. This new system is anything but fair to the Championship teams. You going to have to get the better of the SL clubs over a number games in a mini league something you just won't be prepared for. The gap in playing quality will still be massive between both leagues, so much that I don't expect to see a championship team promoted in this system unless see extraordinary circumstance prevail.

| Loving how Flat-cappers have come out of the winderness in the last 48 hours and I'm taking bets on how long it will take before they work in out and dispair sets in again.
Best quote I have heard regarding the new proposed structure comes from Devils Advocate comparing it to a medieval siege - something like this - "the drawbridge has been pulled down but the invaders are'nt prepared for the slaughter at the gates".

| I'm not convinced we are, we already use a facility At a school in Cas (yep not ours) but I fail to see the logic in travelling to fev, but if we are then I'll hold my hands up. Its good that its breathed a bit of life into a few championship teams, but when its the business end of the year and the leagues break up and every game is like a playoff game / grand final, that alone could be fevs undoing.

ya can never use the words RFL and fair in the same sentence......don't forget that 2 teams will no longer be part of SL an will join as 'championship' teams....it might/might not be yourselves....I'm looking forward to more meaningful games and the prospect of some proper derby games

The logic of travelling to Fev is that the school you use is in Knottingley not Cas and the facility at Fev is far superior than what is there fact
Regarding the new structure if we are not good enough to beat the S/L clubs in the mini league at the end of the season we stay in the championship but at least we have had a chance which we don't have now This also allows clubs like yourself that are not good enough for a top 8 spot to have a full season of meaningful games and interesting matches in September time when your season is effectively over and that is why your club voted for it You certainly won't get relegated this year with Powell in charge but the top 8 is a step too far so 2015 Fev. V. Cas matches will be important again which I think is great for both clubs

Yes, because that clearly provides logic.......the one in Fev is not in Cas. There's about as much logic travelling to Fev as there is Knottingley, and they're both around equidistant.
Cas are using the facilities at De Lacy and our academy is also situated there. It offers the facilities we need along with the existing facilities at Cas.
In terms of the point of this thread, which is about the structure, I'm all for this new system - I can see the pros from all angles. I think some people don't like change, some people like creating confusion in their own minds and some people won't understand it rather than don't understand it.
There are some legitimate questions but it provides a realistic pathway to and from the top division. For a side in the Championship to be in with a chance they just have to beat the 3 other Championship sides and 1 Super League side to stand a chance.

Is it true that licencing has now been scrapped in favour of some sort of P & R ?
If thats the case - facilities don't mean squat.

Facilities will only be an issue when 1 of the RFL's favourites are under threat ie. London, Catalan, Iconic Bulls.
There is no way that these 3 clubs will be allowed to drop.

The only scenario for London to drop out would be if they were replaced by Toulouse if not expect some "special dispensation" of that the club expecting promotion don't meet the criteria.
