| OH for petes sake get a life all of ya, Moaning at refs, should be football coaches not RL.
We all feel we get the e end of the stick from refs, We were hammered in penalty count against Stains at start of season but never heard Nathan Brown come out and start whinging.
It evens itself out over the season and damn sure you and TM, JM or BN won't be on here spouting when a decision goes in your favour?
Get over it cos it won't change

This is the Cas fans forum, so if we wish to moan about getting a rough deal from Refs, then this is the place to do it, we have certainly been at the wrong end of some bad decisions this last few weeks, maybe on Sunday for a change we will be at the right end of such decisions.
The point being made is that taking someone out in the air, as happened to Dixon in two consecutive matches now, isn't open to interpretation, it's clearly against the laws of the game and should always result in a penalty, or even a penalty try, should the circumstances warrant that.
I believe we (Cas) are not well versed enough in conning refs, but believe that at least half the teams in Superleague have the ability to lie on and not be penalised, steal the ball in a two man tackle and not be penalised, take a man out in the air and not be penalised and make a high shot and not be penalised. The Giants are one of the teams who are extremely good in most of these areas, I hope the ref on Sunday is aware of and able to spot such misdemeanors.

| Whoever thinks Sherwin should have walked needs to seriously watch the replay, The guys head was at waist height when he connected and there was no swinging arm, Sherwin is not an agressive HB, He wouldnt try and take someone out.
As for the incidents i spoke to Gareth Hewer who said it was his touchie who gave the penalty for dixon, And a penalty was harsh on Hull KR as it was just a barge, And there was no claim for a penalty try as there was cover coming across.
As for Dixon getting taken out AGAIN, He said he only saw 3 players jumped and he asked the touchie again who said there was no infringement so he played on, He didnt sound too sure of his decision when i questioned him after seeing the replay - So i would guess that maybe we had great shouts for a Penalty there

We were penalised to high heaven at your spot, got Cudjoe sent to the bin for holding down, mcgoldrick did exactly same at your end and because we scored nothing was done!!! dont want favourtism like you guys just consistency.
I suggest you all get a season ticket at somewhere like Leeds Utd next season cos footie fans are a proper set of moaners and ya all be in your element.
By the way didn't Huby try take someones head off when we played you too?

Not always the case Bonzo, one of the TJ's at KR (not sure of his name, but seen him watching Cas a few times and reffing local amateur games) he seemed to dither every time there was an incident in his view and was very reluctant to have any contact with the ref, he was more like a naughty schoolboy afraid to say anything to a teacher.

I never noticed, I was watching the game as a whole rather than looking to pick on individuals involved in it. But you don't see too many signals from touch judges at Super League level these days because they use the communications kit.
Are these incidents you refer to those seen through black and amber tinted spectacles by any chance? Perhaps there was simply nothing to call - you'd be surprised how many spectators see things in a game that simply are not there.

We are not talking football culture here, he did the right thing in making a complaint about Hewer's performance.
He's doing exactly the same as Justin Morgan did and it seems to have done the job for KR, if you had seen some of the decisions Hewer made on friday night, you would understand how frustrated he must have been, it was as though the ref had two different rule books.
I usually keep calm and don't swear at games, but I have to admit I did on Friday, I was so angry at the ref following some of his decisions. Not sure if he was influenced by the crowd, by Morgan's previous outburst about refs or what, but his performance did warrant Terry making a complaint. If Hewer was a player, he would be dropped and playing in the reserves for a week or two, this should be the same for referee's, who should be accountable.
OK we sure don't want players ranting and raving at refs on the field, as happened in last nights game a couple of times, but coaches should have the right to do so after a game, after a performance like that.

I didnt go to the HKR game so I couldnt comment on anything that happened during that match, however the majority of spectators would im sure agree that touch judges do not get involved often enough. I can think of a few incidents recently when something questionable has happened directly infront of a touch judge with no action being taken, I am sure you will be able to recall a least a few similar situations yourself.
It is fairly well know that you are an amateur referee yourself Bonzo, so I would ask, are you viewing these incidents through refereeing tinted spectacles by any chance

No black and amber specs Bonzo, for instance, there was the incident in the second half right in front of where I was sat, which led to Sherwin's injury, this was smack in front of the TJ, he dithered and didn't seem to know what to do, whether to go on the field or not, he made a feeble half hearted attempt to wave his flag, but then stood there like a lemon and didn't put himself forward to the ref. From my viewpoint, it was a deliberate attempt to injure Sherwin.
There were many more incidents, but from my information, the actions taken by the TJ depends upon the referee, some refs like interaction with their TJ's whilst other don't, maybe Hewer is one of those who don't?

If by "refereeing tinted spectacles" you mean the complete impartiality required by match officials, then I'm guilty.

I remember this incident and it looked like the knees went in from behind the sticks. But you have to consider that the TJ had a side view and therefore a better angle on the points of contact, if indeed there was contact. It was also 25-30m in field from him in which case, he may not have been 100% certain there was contact or of the point of contact.
Quote ="danny boy1"There were many more incidents, but from my information, the actions taken by the TJ depends upon the referee, some refs like interaction with their TJ's whilst other don't, maybe Hewer is one of those who don't?'"
Obviously at top level with the use of a communication kit, the officials are in communication, even though you won't be able to see it. Without the comm' kit it's up to the referee to look to the TJs for input, and for the TJs to obtain eye contact and give that input when necessary.

| Another example of "poor" touch judging would be against Leeds where Dixon was CLEARLY taken out in the air, and the touch judge should have seen it because I was stood almost directly behind him, and watching it back on TV also shows that Dixon was a good foot (at the very least) off the ground, therefore a clear cut penalty?
Same against Hull F.C. for their first try where he missed a knock on right in front of him, and then that penalty near the end against Wainwright, and Calderwood's push on Shenton, what would a referees views on these be?

That Hull one was ridiculous, when he claimed Shenny played at it, I could see from the top tier that he didn't touch it, well unless he's well-endowed, in which case I wouldn't have thought he'd be as fast as he is...
But the touch judge was right on the spot, just like the Dixon tackle in the air against Leeds, that's what's frustrating is clear cut decisions - regardless of what coloured specs you're wearing.
