Certainly looked bad on the pitch seeing his legs spasm in such an un-natural way.

Didnt see any late hit and dont recall any Cas players or fans venting their anger at the time. Infact play went on with Cas switching play wide to their left wing, before Saints regathered possession and moved the ball up field.

I will be very disappointed if any Saints player has been involved in an act of thuggery.

Just read the report, hope hes ok and back playing for you soon.

Just heard now about his injury. Hope the kid is ok!!!

Was quite scary to watch, when he was down there seemed to be a "oh god he is fitting" whisper went round the ground and it was horrible to see him there, I thought the same as someone else about it taking too long to stop play when so many where trying to tell him.


All the best to him for a speedy recovery.

I hope Joe is ok and gets back to playing asap. A fantastic young player.

sorry to hear about joe today, I have heard via the radio that he has responded well and was sat up talking, hope he has a quick recovery, would hate to hear of any more bad news

the result is now secondary , thankfully joe seems to be ok .

firstly glad to hear joe is ok never good to hear of these things. I just watched the incident and its a swinging forearm to the jaw, from gilmour and i'll bet he is in alot of trouble. it was dirty as JW did'nt even have the ball.

Hope he's OK - sympathy to all you Cas fans who had to see this, I remember Brough being stretchered off last year and it is a truly horrendous feeling.

very sad to hear another incident in such a very young season. i have noticed a few people saying the game wasn't stopped soon enough, is there anyway of forwarding these concerns to the RFL, surely it couldn't be difficult for the hooter to go in such incidents to stop the game.

yer if what Not Again is saying is true a very long ban for player's who do this sort of thing and the RFL should make sure the player is not paid wile banned!!!

Your own team's coach didn't think there was anything wrong in the tackle at all - it was Westerman and one of ours (some say Graham, some say Gidley, some say Gilmour - seems like it was one of the G men anyway) going for the ball at the same time and Westerman came off worst, he fell awkwardly. Anyway, there is an interview with Terry M on your website in which he claims no foul play at all.

Just seen it on Sky Sports News, It was Gilmour and there was nothing in it just an unfortunate incident

Looked to me like he caught him flush on the chin with some force, late and high deserves a ban.

I admit i only saw it once but there didn't seem anything in it to me but I stand corrected

watch the incident again, he fell awkwardly because he was out before he hit the ground. definately a swinging arm. first point of contact was gilmour forearm on JW jaw.

I was stood in a few yards away from a bloke, possibly same bloke as you I don't know, who said something along the lines of 'Why is he MOM? Surely that is an insult to the guys who have played 80 mins all game?'
I don't agree with him, Westie was given MOM as a sign of respect, but I doubt he meant it in a malicious or distateful way, at least I hope he didn't. Get well soon Joe.

Don't think Gilmour is a particularly dirty player but it may be something for the Disciplinary panel to look at. Hope westerman makes a speedy recovery, our games had enough to cope with over the last 6 months.

There was nothing wrong with the tackle, just watched it on SkySports News. If there was something in it, you would have been able to tell by the reaction to the tackle of the Cas players, who were a lot closer and had a better view of the incident than either you or me.

Cannot see any saints player being dirty or malicious,
when they are leading by 30+ points...
