| Thanks to all the supposed Cas fan or should i say idiots that threw bottles on to the pitch as one hit my eight year old son bruising his leg. Things don't always go our way and i know some decisions were bad but is there any need for this behaviour. You have brought disgrace to the club that i and many others adore .Please go watch football and keep away from the Tigers so that true fans can watch the game that they love.

| Getting back to the original post - should clubs risk losing league points if fans behave poorly in the ground?
Fines for the club mean little to morons, but maybe points would?
I was and still am, embarrassed at what happened tonight. For gods sake, its a rugby match and mistakes by players and officials make the story we go to see. I do a 140 mile round trip to every home game, I was disapointed but that was ridiculous

Got to agree with you there, I make a 130 mile round trip to every home game. Cant say as I was exactly happy with some decisions, but throwing bottles?? Unbelievable IMO. I have been standing on those terraces for 27 years now and cant remember being as embarrassed as I was tonight. And to top it all off the M1 was shut on my way home!!!

Yes if that happened then he most definetley should be arrested and never allowed to play the game again.

| nice to see the vast majority of cas fans taking the correct stance on this one. but then again never really expected anything different the knobs who threw the bottles probably couldn't give a flying @@@@ about castlefords reputation , Lucky it was not caught on sky
as for punishment its up to the proper cas fans with any information to pass it on to the club , why should the team suffer 2 points due to the actions of morons if this was to happen then it would encourage some idiots to get recognition.
just an opinion

| Right Lets get some truth back in this thread.
Firstly at the end of the game some idiot threw 1 bottle onto the pitch. then Oliver Elima and a couple of other players came down to the weldon road end making hand gestures at the cas fans and calling them a word that rhymes with BANKERS. After they did this then other plastic bottles were thrown. I am not saying that this is acceptable but we need some truth in this matter and not speculation. In my opinion i hope the powers that be at Red Hall look at this incident as this caused a lot of problems.
Then one of the stewards either kicked or threw a bottle back into the crowd which narrowly missed a lady at which point her husband tried to get to the field but was held back by his friends. There was then a heated argument between fans and stewards as the fans tried to get something done about the steward who was just smiling smuggly at everyone.
These are the facts I was there not a mate of a mate who spoke to someone stood in the hotdog queue.
I hope that the club have footage of the idiots who threw the bottles and ban them, and I hope the steward who thought it would be a good idea to send one back into the crowd never works down the lane again, but I really hope the RFL take action against the catalan players who were making obsene gestures to the crowd, they weren't celebrating a win they were using fowl and abusive language which lets face it if they were doing it on the street they could be arrested and charged for.
Richard Wright and the club need to make a stand here, make sure idiots are removed from the ground and report players who are inciting trouble.

Is that not called crowd incitement, the player/players who incited the crowd should get a right ticking off.
I also hope the RFL will look into it, but lets not forget calalans are the RFL's blue eyed boys

| Poppy's mum you are correct. I remember when we played whitehaven in the grandfinal and tommy haughey kissed his badge infront of the whitehaven fans. Steve Ganson pulled him up and said he had a responsibility to act correctly and not do anything which could risk public safety or disorder.

| Something threw a bottle at the ref at Odsal last week after the Saints match. Basil Richards (the Bulls Assistant Coach) went mad stould with the stewards trying to pick the person out. He looked disgusted.
I felt embarrassed to be stood on the same terrace as that person. Whatever the provocation there is a line of how you react that you can't cross.
I feel sorry for you genuine rugby league fans that had to witness that crap from people wearing the same shirt as you because I felt the same last week.

| Quote ="Cheshire Tiger"For what its worth I thought that IAn SMith was right on the Rangi Chase voluntary tackle decision and should have gone to the screen for the Pelo try, but the issue mainly rests with the video ref which I think is a flawed idea but.....
....my main issue is the bottles at the end of the game. We embarrased ourselves and the minority damaged the clubs reputation. We all had something to say when Leeds did it in 2006 but it was pathetic. Noone can tell me Ian Smith's performance makes that happen.
I said the same about Leeds in 2006 and I'll say the same again - any club who's fans throw things at players should have a 2 point deduction. So Leeds in 2006 and us now should have lost 2 points due to missiles being thrown on the pitch.'"
Both calls were correct but I agree were harsh but that's life. What no one seems to have noticed is that Pelo was tackled head high IMO and a penalty try could easily have been awarded. Again it was as close to a double movement as you can get without actually being one. Truth is your team lost the game because they are not fit and couldn't last the 80 and Catalan could despite the spirited comeback from you lot...
As for the incident, these things happen and it's best IMHO if people don't make a fuss.

| From where I was stood Elima was clapping the Cas fans, not in a provocative way, and as usual some idiot Cas fans decided to throw a few bottles. Then even more bottles came, they weren't just coming from 2 or 3 people. It's similar to when we lost at Rochdale and people were trying to get at Bobbie Goulding. I don't know why some Cas fans can't control themselves, just a bunch of idiots and it's about time they were banned.
How people can try and defend Castleford by saying the players shouldn't "provoke" is beyond me. All through the match I heard people shouting insults at Catalans players, then one of them supposedly responds at the end of the game (although not in my eyes) and Cas fans can't take it. It reminds me of when football fans used to go to the police and report players like Gary Neville, David Ginola etc for kissing the badge when they scored, despite those same fans dishing out abuse to those same players throughout the match.
Sadly I think it's yet another reason for RW to push for us to have an all seater stadium. Cheers idiots.
Oh and Sky Sports reports RFL will study the match report before deciding what punishment to hand out. Cheers again idiots.

| I felt bad enough about the scoreline and then the idiots started launching crap at the pitch and I felt nothing but shame. There were 1 or 2 items thrown towards Ian Smith as the hooter went and then when Elima started mocking the fans that's when the rest started.
Again, to echo what other people have said, there is NO excuse for throwing things onto the pitch whatsoever and I hope these morons are found and banned because they don't deserve to be associated with the club. Yes the Catalans players were less than professional in victory but that doesn't justify throwing missiles at the field. We should rightly be punished for it.
Myself and some others around me were covered in beer that had been thrown from the back of the stand. Too many mindless idiots are standing on our terraces these days, a lot of them appear to be young kids with no real interest in the game unless we're winning but what disappoints me the most is that a lot of them are grown men who should know better.
As for the steward incident, I noticed an older looking steward throw a bottle towards the crowd as if he was passing it to someone at the front (which seemed strange) and then from there it kicked off with some guy attempting to get onto the field. The steward was then moved away from the incident.
What disappoints me is that we've always had a good reputation as fans from other clubs, but some idiots are insistent on tarnishing that reputation. It's about time the club started monitoring the fans and doing something about their behaviour.

I can assure you Hightown tiger Elima was not clapping his hands although they were moving
I was infront of him and him and his team mates were totally unprofessional and inflamed the situation.
We need to ban anyone who threw anything onto the pitch, but we most certainly need action to be taken against the players who should have walked away and not stood at the weldon road end taunting people
