It's also the responsibility of the home club to wear their home kit unless directed by the Match Commissioner to switch shorts/socks. In the case, there's a full clash then the home club can wear their alternative kit.
Read the paragraphs quoted from the operational rules at the top of the page.

Not strictly true. for example take a look here:
www.superleague.co.uk/video/player.php?id=21204
Here Cas, at home, are playing in their (drum roll) ....alternate kit!
i am told this was because this kit had just arrived and Cas wanted to 'promote it'. The Cas club asked the Giants if they would be kind enough to wear their principle kit for this game. The Giants kindly agreed and this was approved and confirmed by the RFL.
The Giants agreed to wearing the alternate kit to help Cas. Again I am told they did so on the proviso that the kits would be 'reversed' for the Giants home game.
The giants MD says he has the paperwork from the RFL confirming the kit option for sunday. so either
Either way the Giants acted correctly.

| It's caused a reaction bordering on hysterical that's for sure. Personally I thought it was mildly amusing.
Communications error or forgetfulness, there's no real harm done other than sky being inconvenienced a little.

To me it leaps out the words 'p*ss poorly organised' by Cas, Hudd and the RFL ......all 3 of them together. For God's sake amateur teams can do it, women getting ready for a night out can do it....yet we end up with a colour clash!
As simple as it is to those of logic. When each team submits it's 19 man playing squad, 2 days in advance, doesn't this present a good opportunity to settle/submit playing shirts/colours aswell.

No evidence at all that the Giants were disorganised. None. Either the RFL or Cas.

You mean apart from taking their away (sorry, alternate) strip to a home game, when the kit directive issued by the RFL in February clearly has them down to play in their home (sorry, principle) kit for this game?

No need to keep apologising.
The RFL have their directive and then they have scope + a procedure for variations from it. Just as Cas varied in their home game versus the Giants. Fortunately for the Cas vs Giants game the Giants knew what they were doing and brought the correct kit. HTH

| From what it says in today’s League Express it seems the balls up is at the RFL with both teams told they are wearing alternate kits. I'm sure the truth will come out in the enquiry. Huddersfield have given one side of the story. Interesting that nothing has come from Cas. Considering Dickie Wright releases statements for anything trivial I'm surprised he has gone quiet on an important thing like this.
I was under the impression that the away team was required to bring an alternative kit? This directive is to protect for balls ups like this. Who ever is to blame it's quite clear that Cas will take some of the blame for not turning up with an alternate kit.

I am not on a hook. i am happy to wait for official statements.
In the meantime. take a look here and tell me if Cas are wearing their 'home / principal kit' and are the Giants wearing their 'away/alternate kit'? :

I've no doubt about the kits worn in the clip, but it's irrelivant really!! Isn't the issue all about declaring or communicating what kits would/should have been worn to yesterdays game?
As I mentioned in an above post, to me it would be a good opportuinity to declare this when the 19 man team is announced. In fact it would even give supporters the nod about which kit to wear at the game.

Interesting, the plot thickens. I think many on here have Black and Amber glasses on and have been quick to jump to conclusions. I'm happy to wait for the results of the enquiry. The only indisputable fact is that the away team must bring an alternative kit, which clearly hasn't happened in this case.

This is the spreadsheet clubs received 2/3 weeks ago. Assuming Cas received it someone at the club has cocked up + someone failed to take 2 kits to the shay.
these things happen. Cas should not be pilloried for it...but nor should the Giants!

If you look in the operation rules, rule B 1.27 states:
"Notwithstanding the provisions of B1.24, where the Colours of the visiting Club clash with that
of the home Club (and the Match Commissioner shall be the final arbiter of this), the visiting
Club must change into such alternative strip or parts of strip as the Match Commissioner may
direct. To ensure that this Rule can be complied with the visiting Club must bring two different
sets of strip to the Match."

Because several Cas fans on here and on VT have ripped in Huddersfield before knowing the full facts. Lynch mob mentality at it's worst. Just admit they got it wrong!
