| Quote ="Gaslight"Just like a certain Mr Rudder Faumuina came over with big raps, but like Rudder he played next to the best Scrum Half going at the time, I said before the season he could end up been "Rudder mkII" and so far this season he hasn't proven me wrong, he has been quite shambolic so far, and if he doesn't pick it up soon he wont be a Tiger next season.'"
With the quota reducing by two, I doubt he will be anyway. Put it this way, it's either him or Evans to be retained and out of both, I'd pick Evans.

If there's any British centres available, Evans may be gone too, as good as he is, a younger British player with similar ability would be better imo. If there is nobody that fits that criteria available, then Evans would be good to keep as he is a very solid player, and with a better winger then Dixon outside him we will be sorted.
Next season I think we need:
Winger
Prop (Lynch?)
big impact second rower (Fa'aoso back if possible?)

| Evans does not count on our quota does he? He has a british passport!!!
When we came back from catalan we lined up in eu passport holders line while all aussies and kiwis had to fill in visas.

Dunno with Evans. I recall that Bradford were peeved that they couldn't keep him, although I'm sure that's because he's classified as non-fed rather than quota.

| Evans is the clear choice over Si by a country mile...... Evans is solid in both defence and attack.
Cannot see Si being in the team when Jones,Ferres and Westy are back fit......
As for Fa'asso would have him back in a heartbeat..... watched him play for Newcastle loads of times and he has gone from strength to strength.....not lazy anymore infact works his socks off and takes the ball in really hard, what has surprised me mostly though is that his support play is fantastic he is always up there when the Knights make breaks.......He is however a interchange player not a full 80 minute SR but I think that would fit in well interchanging with either Jones or Ferres as needed.....

| Just seen the pass that put joe out of the game.
What an idiot just throwing it anywhere not even looking where he was passing the ball.
He needs to pull is socks up or ship out.

| We can't blame Sione for what happened to Joe, he didn't have a good game but then neither did the majority of our other players.
I wish our vocal minority would get off his back and get behind him!
While ever he's a Cas player we should be cheering him on, making him proud to be pulling on the famous black and amber shirt!
I really do believe Sione will come good for us, it really does remind me of a similar situation with Vowlesy, he was given loads of stick by sections of our support as he struggled at first with us, but he went on to become a legend and there's every possibility that Sione could do the same. Maybe to compare him with Nikau was wrong, but when I first saw him pull on a Cas shirt, that's who he reminded me of, he looked the part then and I'm sure he can again, he just needs his confidence back and we should get behind him to try help encourage him!
There's no way Sione can be put in the same category as Rudder (stand off) who was made to look good in Oz because at that time he was playing alongside one of the best scrum halves in the game, whoever brought him over here didn't do their homework on Mr Rudder.

Did you see the way he just flung the ball anywhere, he saw the defence coming up to tackle him and just throw the ball away.
Joe had to rectify the situation and was hit with out the ball.
Sione wants to have some guts and take the ball in himself not throw it anywhere when he see's the defence infront of him.

Are you seriously suggesting that Sione's failed offloads are responsible for Joe's injury? Get a grip.

I think we will see the best of him now the grounds are getting harder, I want to see him running out wide, not barging up the middle, reckon he could be devastating, his defence has definitely been ok though, some of his bone crushing big hits have been awesome!
Let's get behind Sione instead of knocking him, I'm sure it will make a difference to him, just look at Rangi Chase now he's playing with confidence.'"
I agree, the criticism is sometimes pushed to the limits, like fans cheering when he's substituted and booing him off, these things are gunna do nothing for his confidence

I think you have it wrong there, he didn't fling the ball because of a lack of guts, he does it because he's the type of player who likes to keep the ball alive.!
He's got loads of guts, just take a look at his big hits, anyone without guts wouldn't attempt such a tackle.
Put Sione in a team like the Saints and he would look much more impressive, as other players would support him when he had the ball, they throw passes out seemingly willy nilly but because they support the man with the ball better than we do, the ball tends to stick. Did you see how Sean Long squirmed a pass out to no one, yet because of the backing up Saints were able to make something of it.
I'm not saying Sione's right throwing passes out every time that he does, but that is his style of play ...and whilst he should be more selective with his passing, our guys should support him (and others) better than they are and then we might reap the rewards that seem to come all too often to St. Helens.
But to get back to your point PM, he threw out a pass because he quite rightly thought there was something on, not because of a lack of bottle but unfortunately the pass wasn't executed as well as it could have been and the move came to nought.

| The Injury was a pure accident But I do have to say says it all when we was taken off after 7 minutes.
Matterson said some of the guys are gona be under the pump this week he has to be one.
I would bench him for this week and let him know he gotta up his game to get back in. Injuries permitting of course.

| He's lucky there's a load of injuries otherwise he would be lucky to make the bench the way he's been playing, Widders (in the limited game time he's got so far) has looked better, Jones & Ferres are no brainers, as is Westerman - that really leaves no room for Faumuina, a week or 2 in the reserves would probably be the kick up the jacksy he needs too.

I've been to every single game this season and seen Sione put in big hits in several of them. If he gets his timing wrong in executing such a tackle, then he would be the one splattered all over the ground...
...and looking at the defender when a player is going to receive the ball doesn't constitute a lack of bottle, it's something that happens to all players from time to time, generally when they are thinking ahead as to what they will do with the ball when they get it and how the oncoming tackler will impact on that.
As I've said a number of times, get behind Sione and I'm sure he will deliver the goods, he does seem to perform better in away games where supporters do tend to get behind the players more readily.
