Sport is a different kettle of fish, clubs and players show no loyalty. we see it time and time again....Eg player A makes it big and slaps a transfer request in from the club that gave him his chance for a couple of grand more and better chance at silverware.... On the flip side player A might be rubbish so club A pays up his contract and gets rid...... That's sport in this day and age.

Another point to note regarding Mariano - Wakey wanted CT to take him now to help their wage bill and Cas said they didn't want to do that. Next season will be fine.

if Cas offered him more than wakey (IF!) then it may be due to the fact that they didn't have much more to spend. You guys have already signed a couple for next year, maybe they were taking up the money available?

If he was on 40k, wakey may have said "we cannot afford to increase your wage due to the funds being made available elsewhere" .....cas said "ok we will offer you 45k"

it doesn't seem like wakey "weren't bothered" about keeping him, if they were negotiating a contract - clubs just don't renew them if they aren't bothered.

I'll bet we consistently have spent less than Cas on our wages over the last few years although I suspect the difference is small. We were never busting the bank to win Challenge Cups and SL titles like Bradford. We always spent enough to survive and Ted was underwriting the losses until he went bust and took some his share back out of the club at the worst possible time. I think your a bit short sighted in your view of us a club to suggest we have a "lets finish above Cas at any expense" mentality.
