Great news about Shenton.

I would still be tempted to leave him out of the trip to Hull and Sherwin too if he's not fully fit. It's a long season, the game at Hull is merely for 2 points.

I would be much happier to give these two an extra weeks recovery if it's needed and not play players that 'might be able to make it', not just in this game, but any game.

Great news about Shenny. I don't think i'd play him at Hull if he isn't 100% though.

Agree. I'd quite like to see us try a different combination anyway. We need to be flexible in case he does get a serious injury come the business end of the season.

If no Shenny.... then Ferres to Centre ..... Sione to LF ..... Westy at 6...... drop chase and bring in Higgins.......

Gives us an option to rotate netherton in either the halves or at hooker although i would be tempted to run all game with Westy and Sherwin in the Half positions

Interesting but the point I was making was the re-shuffle required if Shenny didn't make the squad and IMHO Playing Westy at 6 would be a far better option than Chase who IMHO is way out of his depth at this level.

A point I think clearly proved by the fact that TM has him on the bench and prefers to use Si at 6, hardly testamony for someone who came over as our designated no 6 this year is it.

Again IMHO Westy has all the skills to be an effective 6, his distribution is second to none (something that Chase clearly does not have as he spends most of the time running in circles!!), he is quick and is not afraid to take on the line...

I don't think coaching England is in my future but if you think Chase would be a better option than Westy then I would confidently predict that you won't be recieving a job offer either........

I may be wrong but i think the reason TM starts with sione at 6 is to effectivley have an extra forward on the pitch and soften teams up, i could be wrong but thats how i read it.

Again an interesting theory but I personally don't see any logic in that as it would and IMHO does limit our attack......... ala Hudds ...great upto the line ... limited options at the line ( meaning without Sherwin producing something we could not rely on Si or Chase to produce anything)

we have unfortunately got a SR in at 6 who is being preferred to the guy who came across as our no 6 ............ that speaks volumes to me ...... no other team that I am aware of starts any game with their best 6 or 7 sat on the bench.......

I think we will be seeing Si at 6 a lot more than TM intended which to me is not the best option ....Si would be a great SR/LF ....... running at defences ..... for me I would give Westy a run at 6....as I said previously he has the distribution skills, a kicking game, and takes on the line and does not look like a rabbit caught in headlights ....

The other option is to move RM to 6 but I think he is too valuable at FB coming into the line.

told yesterday that both shenton and chase are out injured with their replacements been wainwright and higgins.

lets hope the person is wrong.

Who was that person?.....Don't take his/her advise on the donkeys for gods sake!!!

Didn't look injured the slightest, played well and caused Hull some problems but we had him locked up tight.

It appears some people have been a little premature in writing off the abilities of one of our signings, after a mere 5 games in a Castleford shirt.

It also appears that some people still live in the eighties with regards to playing players from the bench. The game is now more of a 17 man game and a strong bench with impact players sat on it, is the sign of a good team / team selection and not a sign that the starting 13 are significantly better than the 4 that sit on it !

And some people believe in one swallow making a summer .......

Also if you believe that dirertribe about the strong bench then you really are struggling.......... where on earth did you dig that up from Chase is not an impact player he is suppossed to be our recognised 6 ... partnering Sherwin..... you know the reason we brought him over ....starting like he did tonight ......

Personally if I may suggest you are the one being premature ...... I have had six games to make my opinion on Chase you have made yours after this one game .........isn't that a little bit the wrong way around....don't you think you should wait to see if Chase can actually back up tonights game before trying to appear superior...as it really only makes you look small and weak minded ...... honestly it does.........

I don't make my mind up about any player after 6 games in this country, in a team with 10 new players, in such a pivotal position. Do you honestly think you have seen the best of Chase in a Cas shirt after 6 games. I will judge Chase at the end of the season, you write him off...

Your reply about the bench shows a lack of understanding of the game, so I'm not even bothering going there with that one.
