You've called him a liar, without any facts.
He has complained about Cas, he will have some reason for doing so, and something to substantiate it.
I know when he wasn't training with you, a lot of the other Cas players were very supportive to him over whatever was going on.

Come on people just look at this situation. Anyone who has spent 5 mins with Mathers knows he's a nice bloke. It sounds totally like something Milward would do. After the honey moon period is over just watch the Cas club implode just like every other club he has coached.

Clean slate and all that. Wigan fans constantly criticise Richie Mathers but he was decent for Warrington and he played decently for us in bits and bobs.

I think RM is wanting to get out of his 3rd year deal with Cas. Don't forget he is only at Wakey for 2012. If he does well in the next couple of months I can see Wakey buying out his 3rd year and all parties will be happy.

Whatever people say about Richie Mathers, as a person he is a very genuine, honest, decent bloke.
It was public knowledge to people that dont know him but followed his twitter that this was happening.
He is not the type of guy to come out with 'Lies' and if it was not so bad he probably would not have even gone public at all. What he is saying is not a slur to the Castleford Club because I am sure that prior to the Arrival of Millward he was very happy. His issue is with one person and one person only who is known throughout the game as an arrogant man, who believes he is something he is not.
Unfortunately these coaches have their opinions and their decisions are final, but to ostacize a player with Mathers experience and show a complete lack of respect or integrity is a disgrace, but thats what you get with Millward. He still lives on the back of his success at saints where he inherited a champion side.

People can slag him Richie off for mistakes on the field but as a person not at all.
One thing for certain that you would get from Mathers is professionalism, and he certainly would not be caught up in Bar brawls, arrests by police or the drinking culture.

Personally I think it's absolutely disgusting how he has been treated, it's not even the first time the club (RW) has done something like this. Or the second, or the third. How are we meant to attract quality players when we treat people like that. It makes me wonder if I can actually support a club like that.

Quite funny all the wakefield fans rushing on here to defend/support Mathers, i am one of the few cas fans that seem to support richie after his harsh treatment by our club but i mus t find the thread started on he Wakey board when this move was first mooTed

What has happened in respect of Mathers, as always happens with every player who moves, is that the fans of the club he's moving from suddenly decide he's always been gash and they're glad he's going. The fans of the club he's moving to, who have been indifferent towards him in the past, or believed he's gash, suddenly decide he's a useful addition to the squad.

I give you Josh Griffin as another example; it was ever thus.

I am not sure what has gone on but there does seem to be a problem between Mathers and Milward.. out of interest was Mathers at Wigan when Milward was there?

Any way regardless I think the way Mathers was treated was disgusting - I am Cas through and through and I have stuck up for the club on many occassions however on this one I feel their actions are out of order. I hope this is not a sign of things to come with Milwards management style. By all mean I will be happy if he puts his foot down and makes the team more professional and he deals with unacceptable behaviour (take a bow Mr Owen and various others before him) but to freeze someone out without even trying to work with them is out of line.

So before people start to judge Richie think how you would feel if you went to work tomorrow and found you had a new boss who didn't like you and got rid of you before you had chance to prove your worth.

Well something behind the scenes must have happened. I am not saying that i know anything but it seems very odd.

An employer can not turn around and tell you - "right your off". That is basically unfair dismissal. An at very least is an industrial tribunual if not a full blown court case. As far as i am aware neither of these have happened.

Add to that the fact that RM himself has made no mention of potentially seeking the advice of the players union or GMB makes it all the more odd.

Would seem to me a scenario of "mutual consent from both parties" - which if thats the case begs you to ask the question what have either party done which they want to keep quiet.

Mathers was not at Wigan when Milward was there. If you want an insight into how Milward treats players then read Kris Radlinskis book, or have a chat with Brian Carney if you get the chance. I'm no great fan of Mathers but I can believe everything he says about Millward.

Not read Rads book so can't help you, but i may just have a read if its going to be a bit mucky

He was told he couldn't join in team training sessions, Cas would still have had to pay him as he had two years left on his contract, it would have been pay him every month for doing nothing or buy him out of his two years, as it is you and us have negotiated a deal and we're both contributing to his wages. Millward, no matter how great he thinks he is, cannot just sack a player without reason and without payment. I remember finding it strange reading his tweets in pre-season stating he was training alone, obviously Millward doesn't rate him (I don't particularly either) but the way he was frozen out whilst under contract was a very poor wy of handling things.
