| That was an entertaining game tonight and for what it's worth, I thought Dixon's conversion had gone over too but I am biased
A very good defensive effort from the Giants and some good hands from Cas. A few "force it" moves but hey that's out fifth game together with 10 new players in the squad so I'm pretty happy with that. Last year heads would have gone down the moment we fell behind and the Giants would have run in another 2-3 tries at least so a fantastic improvement from Cas.
Here's to a good season for both of us this year and I look forward to the game at the Galpharm .

| I can't fault the effort from the lads, but this game has just left a bad taste in my mouth. I think we deserved a draw at least.

Not that I noticed. Shifty picked up a hand injury - dislocation - but I think they just knocked it back in. He played on at any rate.

Probably the Ferres no-try. I daresay he'll be kicking himself tonight.

And Dixon too. I stand by what I said last week, the guy can't kick under pressure.
I thought we played well enough to get something out of that match. Huddersfield are a very good side though.

| You could feel hard done by. One of your kicks looked as if it went over and it was not given!
You had a lot of ball, and Hudds gave away a lot of pens, bet the lads feel they could have won if they had taken the chances they had

Granted Dicko's no Frano Botica, but he's a decent kicker all the same. The way we're playing this year we're scoring tries out on the wing so the kicks are always going to be tricky. That's maybe the price you pay for 'flair' rugby - we could hire a load of hard b*stards and just grunt it up the middle, but I know what I'd rather watch.

| Good game tonight from both sides. V entertaining.
Have had bet on your guys to make the eight this season and saw nothing tonight to make me change my view.
Also so good to see people like Shenton, Owen, Huby and Westerman fulfilling the potential they showed in the National League in 07 and transfer it to SL level.
Good luck for the rest of the season.

He's a decent kicker on his day, and I agree, I would rather watch expansive rugby than bump 'n' barge up the middle. But we've lost two games because of goal kicks now. And thats whats frustrating.

He went off halfway through the first half and didn't come back on. But I saw him walking around in the dugout before half time.
We really missed him tonight.

| I think it was Shenton who the Sky guys said had suffered a double dislocation of the finger (it popped out twice and was popped back in twice). I'm amazed he carried on playing. It must have been really painful.
It was a cracking game to watch for us neutrals.

| Kicking really is a pressure thing.
For example, the last two games at Widnes saw Tim Hartley kick 14 out of 15 and Scott Yates (a 19 year old) kick 11 out of 12. In both games a lot of the kicks were from the touchline. They looked like world beaters but those games ended 88-0 and 70-0.
If it was 26-24 and the result depended on it, It's a different story altogether.

That was Sherwin. I don't think we've heard anything about Shenny yet.

| I did not think we played as good as we can do in all honesty. Had alot of the ball but did not really play some of the free flowing attack rugby we are capable of but that was all down to Huddersfields defence. Fair play to them and roll on Friday.

| That was exactly the game I hoped for
Huddersfield are a very very good team and we matched them all the way.
Was a great game to watch.
We do however have some areas that are and will cost us close games like these.
1. We do not have a good enough goal kicker .... those missed kicks tonight cost us the match ... it has been said before in SL goal kicking is the difference in winning and losing and tonight that was it......look at hodgson(sp) he was kicking from the sideline and converting..... look at masri (sp) today in sheets of rain and high winds converting for fun from the touchline.......next season this has to be high on our priority list.
2. I know it is still early but 6 is a weak link for us Si is definately a SR and Chase is very poor .... again next year a good 6 should be a priority
3.The biggest problem is the same chestnut that we have had ever since TM joined us and that is our defence in our own 20M ..... teams find it too easy to score when they get to pressure us on our own line........
As I said it was a great game to watch and this year will definately be better than last year .... our attack at times is breathtaking..... I can live with the weak links this year in the team as it is obvious we have made great strides from where we were.....the main worry for me this season will be our defence from the 20m to our goal line.

| I was impressed with Cas today you have really come on from last season. I knew that signing Jones and Hudson would significantly improve you. Love the way your backs run onto the ball at pace. Very entertining and will put a lot of teams under pressure. I can see you getting loads of tries this year.
