| Quote ="Bonzo"There's still going to be urbanisation of an area on a pretty large scale. =#FF0000Is the industrial drainage system sustainable i.e. does it delay the release of water back to the environment at a rate similar to that of vegetation? It's well known that surface water drainage increases the level of peak discharge in the river, and reduces the delay in it being reached during/after rainfall and as a result, can lead to flooding. In the meantime, how long will it take for the increase in woodland to become established?
Naturally anybody down river of this development may have concerns, surely you can see that. There doesn't however, seem to be much effort being made in raising awareness of the precautions taken to avoid these issues given the links posted in this thread.'"
Yes, SUDS are to be incorporated into the design.

| Any other concerns for any tigers fans living in that area???
At the end of the day 15,000+ residents wouldn't have signed up to support the scheme if nobody wanted it.
This is the future of our sporting region, the desire is there and more importantly it has a funding package IN PLACE. not even Saints can say that and they are much further down the road than either of us or Salford.
The population need jobs.
The region needs sporting facilities.
The council need the additional income (tourism, corporate and rate taxes ect).
And it won't cost the council a penny. That or a scub land field??
Put yourself in the councils position, there is only 1 possible outcome of this application. Even if it gets bounced to the cabinet all parties are in favor of economic regeneration, which is exactly what this is. This project WILL go through.

I fail to see why you all are coming on here and assuming its cas fans that are complaining, i havent seen one objection posted to that effect, The only posts are observations thats all, I suggest you put your efforts into going down to the people who live down there and talking them into what you believe should happen. I dont care where your stadium goes, I dont give a flying fec about what will happen to the roads around that area or in methley. So stop getting touchy and stop convincing yourselves it is cas fans.

| Both. again read the documentation; the original petition states that "the facilities can not happen in isolation from the rest of the project". People knew it was going to be cross financed by the creation of a larger development all along.
Anyway enough on here, if you want to chat more about it i suggest we do it on our board. This is becoming drawn out and think it may be better placed on our board where it wont detract from the original thread. (not that i don't enjoy your board, I'm on here as much as my own tbf!).
(oh and i wasn't insinuating that all posters on the planning board were cas fans, i was only asking if cas fans in Methley had any more questions to ask someone who had studied the plans in a fair bit of detail.)

| Unfortunately Cas fans, we may have to lump it Ourselves. I have heard from close quarters in wakefield that Wakey stadium will go ahead with Cas and Wakey having joint ownership.
Unless Mr Wright comes up with goods for Xscape(which he has promised and seems like its gone on for ever), then i can't see we have much choice.

Yes it would, cant see many cas fans following the team there, no one i know would, it would effectivley kill cas off, would rather drop down a league, cas should play in cas and no where else.

With you there pyeman, if cas play there games out of cas this fan wont be watching. Cas should always play there games in cas, i would rather play NL1 in cas not SL in wakefield.

maybee not for wakefield, as you then could call it a community stadium but if cas did go there it wouldnt just be for a year while our ground was built as that would all be forgoten about by our great board, i think it would be for about 3 years untill we were either forced to merge or we just simply ceased to be. i am sure there will be plenty on here who disagree and thats fair enough, i just hope it never happens and i have to watch myself be proved right.

| I think all RL fans would agree Wakey should have their stadium and Cas should have theirs.
Keep the teams alive and well and playing where they should be.

Agreed. And maybe one day we'll be able to offer a couple of derby days each year to rival Hull/KR or Saints/Goons.

Technical point - but it would be joint tennancy - not ownership. That is the nature of the Community Stadium title.
I would agree with the above - 2 stadiums would be fantastic and I would love to see Cas get theirs, and soon, but it does seem that there are plenty of hurdles in the way and that consideration of, at least short term, relocation may be in order.
Good luck!

Cas should play in Cas, cant fault your logic there. But if things dont work out for either one of the clubs I for one would hate having to go to GH to watch Wakey, but being realistic if thats what it takes then that is what I would do because the survival of the club takes priority over my own personal preferences and as a fan of the club surely its better to at least have the opportunity to watch them play in the league everybody wants to be in irrespective of whose ground it is than die a slow death in the lower leagues because of peoples stubborness to come to terms with the reality of it. I know I am slightly biased but if we had to go to Cas it would be a lot harder to take in because we would be going to your ground, Where as if you came to Stanley you would not be sharing our ground but in fact but a community stadium which is in essence as much yours as ours.

Its just the way i feel chissit, i support my home town team if they dont play in my town anymore there not my hometown team, to me we become a methly team then using castleford colours. Any game where you have to catch a bus to get to isnt a home game. If its a choice between losing our identity and dropping down a league i would rather drop down a league. I disagree that dropping down a league would be more likely to kill us off, if we move into methly our crowds will drop massivley and either the club will go bust or they will make us merge. i think we have enough loyal supporters to start a new club in championship 1 (ala sheffield, gateshead) but i would rather go from sl to the championship than start from scratch.

Yet funnily enough only around 5000 bother putting their hand in their pocket and go to games.
So around 10000 will sign a petition and expect other people to pay for it.
How many would sign the pettition if they were also signing up to pay £1200 each towards the stadium - probably very few.

The bottom line is that if 2 teams were going to permanently share a stadium the RFL would favour one for SL and another for the championship. Having 2 SL clubs in the same stadium is unlikely to a runner.

If any other club in SL was in the same position, how many fans would pay for thier own pocket!!??
That is why it is a stupid post!!!!
Can you not understand that casual supporters want to sit/stand in a new stadium, with cover and good facilities???
Look at Hull and Warrington..........the same thing will happan to Wakey and Cas and Salford and Saints.
Just grow up please.
