| Quote ="nottinghamtiger"Dear Mr Solly
I am writing to complain about the abusive and expletive-littered chanting directed =#BF0000towards Hull FC player Paul Cooke during the above game.
Early in the game, Hull FC supporters could be clearly heard chanting; "Die, die, Cookie [Paul Cooke f***ing die". This is in clear contradiction of the RFL's Respect policy which states that:
"RFL Respect Policy :Note - Clubs are responsible for the conduct of their players, parents/carers of players, coaches, officials, volunteers and spectators.
1 No person/s attending a match shall:
a. Use offensive or obscene language to any player, coach, referee, touch judge, official or other spectator;"
As the Complaince Manager with the RFL, I would urge you to investigate these abusive and offensive chants. I am beginning to re-consider attending further Super League games as I do not wish my young daughter to hear such offensive chanting. Likewise, I no longer feel confident watching Sky coverage of the Super League as, having watched a repeat of this game, the chanting is clearly audible on television.
Yours sincerely,
Time to see if the RFL will follow the precedent they have set.'"
I think if you are going to send a letter you should at least give the correct information

| Quote ="MrPhilb"To Wakefield for not stemming the chanting??'"
an interesting point this, which has been alluded to before
It would seem from the wording of the cas fines that the home club is responsible for the behaviour and chanting of the crowd but that becomes more difficult if it is the away fans who are causing problems
you could end up with a situation hypothetically where next Wakefield could organise a few rent-a-thugs, ply them with beer and get them to behave in an unacceptable manner and cost cas £20k in suspended fines and damage their franchise bid
is this fair? who is ultimately responsible for the behaviour of away fans?
or even better, dress them in cas shirts and plant them in the crowd, would struggle to identify them then

why what?
why would they do this?
I did say hypothetically and I think the RFL have started down a path which they need to follow up to eliminate all abusive chanting but,...
it was suggested, and probably correctly, that wakefield should be punished for not stemming the abusive chanting of a group of Hull fans.
the final franchise place is broadly accepted as a run off between wakefield and cas or some forced merger
in some people's view damaging cas's franchise bid would in some way enhance wakefields

Oh Ok
yes that is their responsibilty but identifying them and taking action could prove more difficult.
Cas have done well in identifying 3 fans after the event but if they were away fans or new fans how would they do this?
For away fans it would probably require immediate physical intervention and eviction from the ground and I'm not convinced the stewards we get at RL are capable or trained enough to do this. Maybe the point is they should be and need to be.

| Your choice of words tells me that any chance of a debate is out of the window.
I do not claim to be an authority, but the points that I would be making in debate would come from my study of those who are leaders in the fields of politics and economics and have carried out work on the impact of Thatcher.
Anyway enjoying rotting in the Championship.

I was using the word "enjoy" in the sense of enjoy something to come. For example today my friend told me to enjoy my holiday, which I will be going on in two weeks time. My education helped me to understand what she meant.
However for readers from Castleford who struggle with the application of basic words, then enjoy rotting in the Championship whenever your team ends up in that league within the coming decade.

| If it was up to me your team wouldn't be threatened by dropping out of the league, I would favour an all round expansion of the number of teams (but that is a debate for another time and another thread).
You cannot deny that in our league as it stands your credentials are one of the weakest out there. With teams like Widnes (and to a lesser extent Leigh) knocking on the door, I cannot see survival for your club in its current standing within the next decade as long as the RFL continues its current policy.
I wasn't disrespecting your A levels, I was just surprised by the short sighted way in which you misread what I meant.
In other news, Richie Mathers has just posted on Twitter that his club for next year will be announced tomorrow. Is is pretty much nailed on that he is coming to you? I was trying to listen out for any chants of "Mathers is a Tiger" (or something) yesterday but I couldn't hear anything..

| At the very least Mathers makes things exciting. Every time he; has the ball in hand/ is near the ball/ isabout to receive the ball/ is on the field/ is near the field, you sense that he is never more than a few moments away from an epic fail.

I'm more worried about the fact that he is poor under the high ball, has poor positional sense and struggles to tackle one on one. There the things a fullback needs to be able to do well and he cant. At least mcgoldrick is an attacking threat from fullback.
It infuriates me that we have two good young fullbacks at he club who can both catch better than mather and are in the right position more often and we sign mathers instead of playing them.
Signing mathers also means we are almost certain to move mcgoldrick to the halfs instead of buying a proper scrum half.
Can really see us struggling next year now.
