Absolutely agree with you Bonzo! I wasn't saying that what they were doing was correct, it was just how I interpretated the article.

They either hoping for a sugar daddy to come along and help bail them out or are expecting rather larger crowds than last season! I really don't see either happening anytime soon!

In 2006 we asked the RFL not to relegate us - until we saw sense and thought better of it

What difference would a points deduction make to them? I reckon they will be re-named and they will be guaranteed a franchise regardless

What seems to be omitted from all of this, is the pension payments to the players, if the rfl allow these to be written off then they are as guilty as the club, I do not condone anyone taking pension rights / monies from anyone (ala maxwell and co). They knew when they took on the company the liabilities and should be made to pay up or feck off in my book.

The only thing that I'd add to that is: the GMB/RLPPA case over alleged unlawful deductions from wages has yet to reach a court, never mind been heard or judged …

Where do they stand if the company that owes this money no longer exists?

My understanding which is limited of the law would be that there would be no case able to reach the courts since the defendant(s) would no longer exist!

I may be slated for this post, but here goes anyway.

The RFL and the Welsh RL team (in its various guises) have taken the mickey out of honest RL fans, their own included since inception. Rather than continuing with the way things are and the fans of opposing clubs simply doing as they are told I'm going to go on a one man protest.

The Welsh experiment will not get another penny out of me. I've bought my season ticket, but when it comes to the home game against the Welsh then I'll be sending it to the RFL with an accompanying letter explaining reasons for my non-attendance. I've had enough of being led blindly like a lamb to the slaughter by the RFL and I will not help tie the noose around my own clubs neck just so a couple of fat cats at the RFL can sit sipping brandy whilst congratulating themselves on how they've murdered another heartland club.

Please don't miunderstand me, I'm not anti-expansion; I'm just pro-fairness, equality and a level playing field for all. Remember when those things were actually a part of our once proud game?

I sense a slight change of attitude to the Welsh club , strange really as when us NL fans [ as was at the time were all telling everybody that the Crusader project was all a ' set up ' , all we kept hearing was ' sit down shut up ' , it's all about the bigger picture and better for the ' game ' , or you're not real RL fans , just fans of your small town club , your're holding back the sport

My nervousness is not with expanding the game but forced expansion that is propped up at the expense of the much belittled 'Heartland' clubs.
If Crusaders had got in by merit (Oh God we are entering P+R) then all well and good, they would be sound financially and have a decent team to get in and probably a more substantial fanbase.
But how long before the RFL push through an Irish and Scottish club? and which heartland club gets edged out then?
