I hope the article is as good as the headline and not just another "we are committed" line from the club.
Some actual news would be very much apreciated.

I agree with you, some positive news on the stadium would be good with all the bad news of late.

Rather disturbingly the only word to enter my head on seeing this information was "Yawn"

A misleading front page headline, and the rest of the story "continues on page 2" telling us pretty much nothing (well nothing we didn't already know).

Obviously nothing much has happened news wise in Pontefract or Cas this week!

Where I used to work when I used to have the P and C on my desk the paper got the pseudonym "dog farts in Featherstone" cos there is always very little happening.

Funnily enough I was going to write exactly that word 'till I read your post mate. It's time for actions not empty words!

On the day when Cas's major development will once again get planning approval, we can't be seen to say nothing and our very own Richard "King of Spin" Wright must be heard to be shouting that all is well down the lane. A suitable headline with no meat content ticks the box nicely.

EH planning app unanimously approved by councillors. Officers say approval will not "act as a block" to other schemes.

Once again, the RFL are blazing a trail in helping member clubs and following their move with the purchase of Odsal Stadium, the governing body are to advance Castleford Tigers £15m against Wheldon Road, which will allow the club to move forward immediately with the new stadium development.

The RFL HQ at Redhall is to be sold and Wheldon Road site will be developed by the RFL to house a new purpose built RFL HQ, this will include much needed training, medical and rehabilitation facilities for the elite of the game, facilities such an IT and other skills training centre, this will help the transition players have to make to integrate into a regular 9 - 5 working environment when they retire from the game.

The RFL see the purpose built development as an investment into the heartland of the game, as well as providing much needed facilities for the welfare of the lifeblood of the game, our players.

Interesting that it was the guy from Opus in the article and not our very own Sultan of Spin.

But i now will only believe it all when i see the new ground built.

That's the way I've been viewing it for a while - avoids disappointment!

The supermarket has nothing to do with Cas. The project is being controlled and funded by Opus. This is why our fans need to be patient. The club cannot do anything and any news is released when Opus (and their other partners) have agreed for it to be released.

9 pages on the Wakey board now (Newmarket ESW40A & LDF). Remarkably though, most of it is Tigers Stadium related. How sad! You get the feeling from some they want us to share at NM. Praying for us to fail, desparate or just obsessed ? You decide.

If you actually read it, instead of just running back here to stir up some froth, most of the discussion is quite sensible and contains no ill will towards Cas or your stadium plans; it's a topic of local RL interest, so it's likely to be discussed on a RL message board. Join in!

Quite simply what happens regarding the stadium situation at Cas affects Wakefield. You'll find most would like the see Cas stadiums plans work out, albeit after Newmarket has been given the go ahead, as Wakey supporters don't want to see Cas sharing Newmarket just as much as Cas fans don't want it. Seperate stadiums equals separate indentities. A shared stadium and you know what the clamour from outside will be for. That 'm' word again. So its not sad at all but damn important.

Oddly, I still maintain the scheme's hugely depend on each other -the first bricks down on whatever scheme will be the only one built in my opinion for many years.

There are precidents for similar infrastructures being built in the same postcodes.

Yeah, I've just read it again B2K - not convinced. Quite good and sensible until about the 5th page when the same old anti-Cas bile starts to re-surface again.

On the first point - we all have our eccentrics who can't help having a dig; hardly a reason to get all worked up.

On the second - there's even a thread on the VT about it; I'm pretty certain that the interest is in a well-liked stalwart of RL, not in Cas.

I promise you that everyone doesn't hate Cas - or Wakey come to that - we're just not important enough.
