| I suspect the franchise criteria will have to be changed because the RL will not get the answer they want using the previous system.

point 77b/687053:
No team shall enter the 2012 competition if their name includes reference to a large stone structure,

Mmmm they have a ground though, we dont as yet.
The RFL are hell bent on ''new stadiums'' so if its cas v quins, quins win hands down.
As for criteria for the franchise, they make it up as they go along.

| Looking at the old criteria we would score 6 points this time (if we finish 8th this year) putting us comfortably in the 'B' category. If the RL accepts we would have a ground 'meeting the standards of a premier competition in the 21st century' by the next round we would have 7points.
If by having an individual bailing out your loss making club to the tune of £1.5million a year means you are solvent, Quins would also get 6 points.

| Would that depend on whether any money went down as a loan or just capital injection...
Read somewher on a post might be able to finish 9th as we finished 7th last year and average is 8th (not certain though)
And going on your figures if Cas were cut adrift on those franchise criteria it would surely be a cast iron case in a court?

As I've said before - the RFL would do well to remember that there are additional criteria other than those for facilities. Whilst our stadium is poor, there are some areas in which we really excel.

I can name 3/4 others who's stadium is bad also.
For some reason we get picked on for bad stadium, some people are so blinkered.

Not only are they bad , but they are a lot worse than ours, one of the worst being Hull KR with the unsafe seating, so much so that they ask you not to celebrate too much in case they fall down, and do they get warned about their dump ????

Not passing judgement on who,s stadium I prefer , but you are aware the RFL changed their own criteria to allow you back into SL back in 2005

I agree. Too much emphasis is being placed on stadiums. I believe yours to be one of the favourite grounds of away fans. I certainly would put the jungle in the top 4 favourite RL grounds I have been to.
With regard to yoof development, community work etc, I would think that you again have a set up that is on par with other, supposedly safe teams.
The issue here is that the RFL have yet to publish what will score what in the licence applications.
I also reject claims that Quins RL, my club, will be saved purely on the develpment ticket. If this does happen, then you could argue that granting us a licence to us on projected future players and development, but ejecting a team on the basis of them not having built a stadium YET smacks of double standards to say the least.
All we know is that the RFL will probably not publish the full criteria required for acceptance to superleague in 2012 and that whoever gets the chop will certainly have a right to feel hard done by.
For me, I still say it will be Quins RL that might step down before they are ejected.......the club can't support itself financially and out major shareholder isn't allowed to assist us.
What I do know is that if it isn't Quins RL, then it will be between yourselves and wakefield....and IMO neither of your clubs or fans deserve that.

Is this the seating requirement that was dropped from 2000 to 1500? I dare say had any other team earned the chance to be promoted that season, the change would've suited them too.
How many seats were there at Hilton Park when you were promoted to Super League? Does your capacity at LSV earn a point in the licensing criteria yet?

The seating capacity at Hilton park was around 1,600 in year 2000 when we made the GF , we were told by the RFL that wasn't enough , so the club paid for another 500 to be put into the Tommy sale stand giving us around 2,200 when we were promoted
Capacity of the LSV is 12,000
As I said , not casting aspersions , just that New Craven park passed the ' framing the future criteria ' , just , whereas Wheldon road didn't despite 10 years of SL occupation , and yes I know that belle Vue is even worse

| Does anyone ever take a step back & see how ridiculous & laughable all of this is? 'You can't be in SL with only 1500 seats, you need 2000.' 'You can't be in SL with a ground capacity of 10000, it has to be 12.'
FFS, apart from the top 4 or 5 clubs nobody's averaging anywhere near crowds of 12k, and I don't see hoardes of disgruntled fans at Cas complaining they can't get a seat, but clubs are facing demotion from the league on the basis of artificial targets like these instead of which team's performed the worst on the field. Similarly you can have a team like Fev who have a storming season but aren't allowed to be promoted.
I think its time for fans to revolt against Richard Lewis and those at the top. Its time someone told them the game belongs to the fans not them.

Totally agree but it will fall on deaf ears, the RFL and its stadia brainwashing committee have done a great job
FACT. there is no better place in the world to watch a game than a 3/4 full and rocking jungle, and I fear we will lose that when we move
