| Just a quick question to see if you want Kear as a coach if he become available.
No i am not his agent.

| nice guy but no thanks.
John is good at motivating teams to play every game like a cup final which works at the start of the season but the teams seem to burn out mid season.

| No. I think Kear has a shelf life of about 18 months. He always is reasonably successful in the short term, but after the initial newness has gone it always seems to go quite stale. I would want a coach who continually improve the side over a long period of time.
Do you think he could be on his way. By looking at your forum half the side seems to to be going.

| I put a post on the Guardian website a few weeks back, my prediction for 2012 season was that Kear would be the coach of whichever of Cas and Wakey got a franchise next season

FWIW I can see TM still being in charge next season.

| maybe as assistant to tm so he can learn tm's attacking style of rugby, then assistant to the next coach if tm does leave at the end of the season, then if he learns how to coach an attacking style then i say yes.

| I would. I'd be fairly happy to see TM stay as I think continuity in a club is important but when it was a straight fight between TM & JK to avoid the wooden spoon we all know who came out on top. We might play attractive rugby but we're never going to win anything with our defence as its been for the last few years. Even the opposition coaches have gone on record as always fancying themselves to score against us & whilst there's no postition where Wakey were stronger than us on Saturday they still put 20 past us.

| I would give Gary Thornton a chance, look at the youngsters he is bringing on. Did a great job at batley with no money. He is a Yorkshire man well worth atry if TM leaves.

| yes , i think it would be a good move . Why not have kear and powell or thornton. These people all have a fair bit of charisma and strength, unlike the current head coach who seems to offer little direction or motivation in order to take out the big teams in key games (or even get to a cup semi). I could also see kear & powell working well together , however I think they would want to take charge of ALL football matters (like they have at their current clubs) and not suffer idiots like Dicky wright having much input. Therefore I can see another untried overrated aussie replacing the one we have !

You have to ask whether or not he would be able to attract quality players to the first team squad to support those youngsters going forward though. Is he in his ideal role looking after the young players and supporting the first team?
