| I have already stated, both on here and the Salford message board, that in fact Dr MK is actually very good for the game, and if he attracts more similar businessmen and investment, it will be a godsend for a game that is on the brink of financial breakdown, and in danger of becoming a feeder league for the NRL and god forbid the RFU.
Unfortunately many RL fans, including a lot of ours, have a ee ba gum, ee ecky thump, attitude towards the game and would be happy to see the lowest common denominator prevail. The RFL itself, is run by people not up to the show, and cannot even negotiate adequate TV and sponsorship deals.
I don't go on Twitter, but I have an idea about what has been said. However don't tar all our fans with the same brush. There are many of us, that have the awareness and foresight to realise that for the game to prosper, we need the likes of Dr MK and true professionals to become involved with the game.

Quote ="BD"I think you're forgetting the tweets we're talking about here. He actively goes out of his way to reply to fans when they're clearly a bit irate. It's unprofessional, and I don't know why Salford fans have suddenly taken the high road in these past few months - has he bought you guys some blinkers too?

"BD", Although the Dr made a couple of tweets in the past that were constructed in a manner that irritated a few fans of a Yorkshire club who are having a tremendous (and might I add, extremely well deserved and thoroughly enjoyable to see) season, 99.999999999% of his tweets bear no relevance to any other SL side or support.
If you go back into the link you shared, you will find for example, that an innocent tweet about a horse then seems to attract replies that bear no relevance to the original tweet, but nasty, spite filled poop from "so called" RL fans...
Firstly - Do people really have to have a go about his involvement with SL at every opportunity?
Secondly - Why do some people then go viral on forums spouting that the Dr has said this and that about a certain subject, when it is them who are spouting, just for a response and it es them off when he is as civil as any human can be when confronted with crap?
Banter is good, however, there is a line and fortunately, the Dr knows where that line is... Unfortunately, too many keyboard warriors do not!!!!!

| Quote ="Red John"OK. I'll make this my last post on this thread, because I'm sure Castleford fans don't particularly want to read about Marwan (although they can't stay away from him on Twitter
).
It's ironic you should accuse The Butcher of 'hiding behind my skirt (!)' when you avoid any of the points I raised. Your first reply was really just to say what you'd already said, and thereafter you've focused on some perceived insult rather than dealing with the issues. This is your [imodus operandi[/i. It's the way you operate over on the Salford forum too: when the going gets tough, the not-so-tough use avoidance tactics.
The problem I have is that this last year or so has really opened my eyes to just how bloody childish some followers of our sport are. For some reason, we've elicited the ire of a handful of fans from three clubs: Warrington, Castleford and Widnes. At one end of the scale, Warrington fans like to make things up about Salford/Marwan, don't bother to check their facts and then whine about what they've made up. (As an example only the other day, one 'expert' on their forum was telling everyone how Marwan would just blurt out details of any signings on Twitter. This was pretty much on the day Salford announced that the Swinton head coach Ian Watson would be leaving Swinton to take up the assistant coaching role at Salford, a deal that had been agreed the previous week but which both clubs had kept quiet at the request of Swinton so their preparation for that weekend's match wasn't affected.) Widnes fans tend to play some kind of Postman's Knock, where they shout some puerile abuse (usually badly spelt, like '[iyour[/i crap', or '[ithere[/i never gonna win anything) and then run away. Cas fans are somewhere in the middle (and it was good to see one of your fans drag one Postman's Knock numpty back to his own forum last week). You personally prefer the make-things-up-and-then-get-upset-about-it method. How difficult would it have been to check how many clubs supported the golden ticket idea? It took me literally 10 seconds to search it out on Google. You chose not to, because you just know you're right.
We don't get this from other clubs. There's a thread on the Huddersfield forum concerning a rumoured swap deal involving Marc Sneyd and Shaun Lunt. The only childish contribution - complete with predictable variation on Marwan's name - is from you: the man with the petty user name who wants to lecture us about acting with dignity. (Just as an aside, didn't you tell us over on the Salford forum that you're in your 60s? If so, do you think there'll ever come a time when name calling would be beneath you?)
Ah well. I notice you've now diverted your anger towards Marwan on Twitter. I can't comment on that because, like yourself, I'm not on Twitter. From the limited amount I get to see, some of the replies he gets are just puerile, and, sadly, it seems it's often from Cas fans. Maybe it was always about Twitter. Or maybe not. He's only been on Twitter for a few months. Are you suggesting that if we went back far enough - back to his pre-Twitter days - this forum would be full of 'oh, that Marwan, he's a card. I might not agree with him, but he's never caused me a problem'? I haven't checked the facts (call me a Warrington fan) but I'm guessing things weren't like that.
I'm not saying everyone should worship at the altar of the great Marwan. I fully appreciate people have a whole range of opinions. It would just be nice if they were based on something concrete occasionally.
As I say, I'm not going to post any more on this thread. If you want to continue this debate (if that's what you could call it), you know where I am. I'll leave you with this. I know we're not supposed to post YouTube links, but it's via the Steve Prescott Foundation. It's Marwan, being the ogre you know him to be. Can't quite see how him attending a Jack Fulton dignity masterclass could make this more moving.

| Quote ="TheButcher"Your avoidance skills are admirable.
It's called repetition. I shouldn't need to repeat someone else's cognitive response to your dribble. I notice that you have zoomed onto me, as you always seem to do rather than reply to RJ. I suppose it's easier for you.
I don't see how telling you that you have no clue with most things Salford related (A truthful statement) and that you debate poorly and with bias (Another truthful statement as evidenced numerous times in this thread alone) constitutes Pathetic sarcasm (Your quote) or hiding behind someone elses post.
As for Twitter...
First Football and now Cricket.
Rugby League is the game to follow . At least we got to the Semi finals of the World Cup
Due to an injury, Duke of Clarence will not run in the Northumberland plate on Saturday. He is out for the rest of the flat season
Made an entry for "Steve Prescott" to run at Chester on Saturday. Will see how he is before we decide to run him again so soon . Class horse
Mason and Kevin should make their home debut against Hull on 12th of July. Tickets are on sale from tomorrow and We need your support
Remember the days in which other clubs came in and took our best young talent.
No one cared for Salford then.
We are no longer the hunted
Would like to thank our Coach, Iestyn Harris and our CEO @mart_vickers for all of the hard work in securing the services of recent signings
Kevin Locke got his Visa . Hoping to be here within the next 10 days
I dreamt last night that the salary cap was increased. I have just realised, it was only a dream and cannot carry on signing more players !!
Delighted that Mason Caton-Brown will be joining us immediately . Another very talented young player into our squad.
Well done to Warrington today
I have a slow horse that is unlikely to ever win a race . I need someone's permission to name it after them. Maybe my mate Nigel will
Awesome and very emotional win by Steve Prescott .
I hope "Steve Prescott" runs a big race and comes home safe.
Not long before we visit Cas. Looking forward to going there and let's all just enjoy the game. Hopefully we go there having beaten the Wire
This is the ideal time to convert suffering football fans to Watching a decent, passionate sport called RUGBY LEAGUEX
Those are the last Tweets made by MK going back to June 19th according to his twitter page at the time I've typed this. I don't know about you, but I don't see many tweets designed to aggravate and wind fans up. I have not cherry-picked here either. These are in order going back just under a week. While he does have banter with many fans, it's the lunatics trying to wind him up that have the loudest voice, and it isn't always a sensible one.
So even though I've answered your side-stepping question, which I shouldn't have bothered with, you again make no valid points and answer nothing. I await your next post of gibberish and poorly thought out side stepping.
'"
I don't think i've ever professed to be a good debater (unlike you) Rugby league tends to be followed by the working classes who just enjoy coming on these forums but not joining the Cambridge union. Even though i'm not a good debater i never sink to the level that you do with the puerile rants against any opposition fans that dare to come on the scarlet turkey with negative views. Red John says thats his final word so its no good shouting for his help again. You'll just have to struggle on alone
