Quote ="Tigerpie"I have seen far too many bizarre influences from TM so all of a sudden start backing him. Lets not get carried away here, ELEVEN games left in the season and we put some form together?? Not good enough.
I have seen shocking team selection, persistent use of big name but ineffective players and now TM has, to some extent had his hand forced by the loss of such players, we have an upturn in form....that is due to a combination of factors.
Do you not agree with any of the points I have made?
Yes, Widders owes us BIG time for the amount of time he has sat out with injury over the past 2 years, i'm sure he'd admit that himself!!'"
The reasons why we havent got into good form is due mainly to injuries owen, ferres, widders, evans, sherwin and dixon have all spent alot of the season on the sidelines (and then sherwin left), combine that with a small squad (and though no doubt you blame that on him, i'm pretty sure no coach ever wanted to do a job with significantly less resources than his rivals) and we were always going to struggle, substitute any coach in the league for tm give him the same resources and same injuries and we wouldnt get more more than a couple of more wins and with many of them we would have a couple of more loses. But for a dodgy video ref descision against kr we would be in 7th. At the end of the day 10 clubs are spending more money than us in this league but we are in the play offs and some of them arent. Do you think tony smith would be second in the league with the resources we have?
As for the widders comment thats a load of bull, its a contact sport players pick up injuries, have you ever heard of a player that never gets injured? i havent. Do evans, ferres, dixon and owen all owe us big time? kyle eastmond has got injured again does he owe saints big time?
Widders made 18 appearances in sl last year, which isnt great but its far from unusual for a player to make only that many appearances, most teams have at least 2 or 3 players that miss more games than that, and that happens each season.
