Wouldn't it be great if supporters after the game could lay the fault of the defeat at the players, coach etc and not the officials.

Time and time again we see people on here blaming the referee or even worse accusing them deliberately of favouring the opposition and so enough is enough.

I propose we have a respect the referee weekend, where we accept every decision they make.

I do respect Referee's (well most of them anyway) and they have a difficult job to do, but are of course quite well paid to do it, especially those at Superleague level.

Surely if we can criticise players then we can justifiably criticise ref's, if we believe they've made mistakes!

Ref's are paid to do a job, just like players are and it's again us who pay their wages, so whilst I'm sure the vast majority of ref's don't deliberately make a wrong call, it's all part and parcel of the game to have a go at ref's!

So I for one won't be joining your plan to give ref's an easy ride.

In my book 'respect' is something that has to be earned.

Have our referrees..or the RFL as a whole, done anything over the past few years that is deserved of our respect???? After the openly fiddled Challenge Cup draw of a few years ago, the whole of the rugby league community are all too aware of how bent they can be, when it suits them....

So I think its a matter of tollerating them, rather than respecting them!
