He doesn't seem able to make it back the 10m after a tackle and smart teams can target that.

Newton is not on alot less than drew, other way round.
If either come to Cas, I'll support them 100%. However, the simple fact is that both players are past their best.
As for the thought of rotating a player on their reported wage, it is like paying 4x for them. (twice the typical wage, for half the match time). Hell of comprimise to accomodate a player at the back end of their career. But don't we always do that!!!
What about bringing some young blood through from the academy? We keep getting some good results from them, so there have got to be some good play makers there, which could be paid less than half the cost, and give us a foundation to build on. Rather than a player for a couple of years to patch up the position, and then start again in 1 or 2 years.
