| York.
What are they playing at, they could have denied them a bonus point.

| I like the fact that someone at the RFL has a sense of humor. Powell complains Hewer is the worst ref at this level........ref for today Gareth Hewer.
I hope Fev dont get rid of Powell.

| Also York did it WITHOUT any Dual Reg players. After the game Powell said that York were "Outstanding" and it was the worst Fev performance he had seen

| Just goes to show, when we made hard work of it at York we were all moaning and groaning.
Incidentally, if you look at the Toulouse thread you will see I predicted Fev to lose.

Obviously it's worse than conceding 60 points at home to HALIFAX Daryl, but you don't like losing to Halifax do you anyway mr. Powell ?

| Daryl is spot on. York were simply outstanding today and at one point defended for dear life on their own goal line for 3 consecutive sets.
The attitude of the Featherstone players is debatable, why? I dread to think.
One of the best team performances I've seen in a long time. Well done York.

I think those are honourable comments Chris. I'm hearing quite a bit/reading about the Fev players' lack of enthusiasm at the moment. I was thinking that maybe the loss of Dickens in your pack was a seamless move but i wonder how much he's being missed for his drive & leadership in games like yesterday when it's tight.
The forwards clash between Fev & Fax is gonna be awesome if we maintain our form.

| York on their own patch can be a tough nut to crack.
They are up for it, especially when they are playing against the so called better sides.
When we played them it could have easily gone the other way and there was nowt to choose from, I know I came away thinking we had done well to get the win.
I sometimes think as well that it does come down to player attitude.
Maybe some of the Fev lads did think all they had to do was turn up and in the end they would win.
The same will apply to Fax at Doncaster on Monday.
As we know if your not up for it you get out enthused, out tackled, out run and the game goes away from you and you can't get back in.
Pre season it happened to us at Dewsbury and almost happened to Fev there as well.
The loss of Dickens as a player and a leader will take some replacing, Tonks as well.
As good as the likes of England and Crossley etc can be I don't think than can completley fill the boots of Stu D and Tonka.

gingdong, on another thread you intimated something might be wrong in the Fev camp, any chance of elaborating?

| Not sure if this has anything to do with it but some Cas ` fans believe Daryl Powel has been offered the job of coach at Cas`, they say that Cas`board are having trouble negotiating release fee for Basil though. I don`t know wether this is so or not but there has been talk on the message board about it.

Linda, DP has been "going to Cas" for months now from what i hear but time will tell. There certainly seems some unrest between him & his chairman at Fev. In all honesty, who would want the Cas job as a career move unless it was their only option ?

| From what I hear I think the problem is Mr Probiz who has DEMANDED Fev win things for what he has invested. The Fev club seemed to be doing well up until Mr Probiz started getting involved. I think the way he has tried to act has upset a few people and created pressure that is not needed. I feel for DP and others. Having an investor sometimes can be more of a burden than a blessing. maybe though I have it wrong.
A number of fev fans are like fax fans that we get used to winning or maybe feel we should win against alleged smaller teams and we say stuff without really showing respect to others. York are no mugs especially at home. Things go in circle and Fev have had a period where they have been the best team in the league over the past 3 years. But players leave and the team changes. Fev are maybe less experienced and lack the leadership they had for the past 3 years. But with the setup DP had instilled at Fev it will just be a matter of time before they become the bet team again. Right now Sheffield for me are the team to beat. Fev fans much like Fax fans just need to be patient. Its easy to get frustrated and vent anger when we lose games we expect to win. I like most of us have been guilty of it

| There are 2 camps developing at Rovers 1 that think the 1 trophy out of 6 we have won with the massive investment (forget league leaders it means nothing) is not good enough. Then there are the camp that think Darryl is a god and has transformed the club. I myself think its the chairmans money and drive that have transformed us the last few years. We have the biggest playing / coaching budget and money to spend if players are available. my personal opinion is if we don't win the lot with those resources then its not good enough. Im not been arrogant just realistic

| That's what the salary cap is for tho Gingdong!
However many billions mr probiz pumps into Fev, they can still only spend the same as everyone else so a bit of perspective is needed here! In reality there are probably only 2 or 3 clubs that can spend the cap tho
How's things with mr probiz? Any strain yet? Gas he found those Middle East investors he was gonna find us?

At the end of the day though Ging you can only spend up to the cap and sign so many players.
There are a lot of good players out there at the moment and not all of them can be at Fev or any other one club.
Which in a way is a good thing.
There are other clubs that have passionate BOD's who have ambition to progress their respective clubs to be as good as they can be where they are and perhaps one day into Super League.
Being realistic this would mean that a club who has a good BOD with the infrastructure in place and the momey to spend and is the furthest ahead could become the most consistent club in the division just like Fev have been.
However there is always the possibiltity that the other better sides who have are putting similar things in place can beat them on any given day.
In fact this is exactly what has happened with Rovers in the Championship and some of the other sides are now closing the gap "as clubs".
I would expect Fev to be at or near the top of the pile for the forseeable future but not to be as dominant as before.
The real danger is not being able to progress beyond a certain point for too long as this can lead to stagnation , frustration and eventual decline.
