That isn't Toronto's fault. More likely to be players issues. Visas are normally refused or delayed due to 'behavioural issues' and past indiscretions

If you are saying the RFL aren't having to assist with travel costs associated with skint clubs going to North America and across Europe to our EU neighbours then ok, you must know something I don't. LAst time I checked liberty village was in Ontario though, and I think if these clubs had a spare 20-30k+ to play an away fixture in Canada then the games in great shape and I applaud them all.
Nice sentiment, no precedent for this being any other than folly though, we shall see, an I am prepared to admit im wrong.

Never mentioned the European teams but it has been well publicised that Toronto are funding opposition travel and accommodation.

Toronto have absolutely no infrastructure at all, everything they have is propped up by blank cheques

Absolutely unsustainable, terrible business model. Who is paying the guys to take extra days off work to play these fixtures? If you think the RFL haven't spent anything on this then im amazed. It's called PR and marketing, you tell people what you want them to hear.
I look forward to then end of year accounts being published.

He knows something you don't.
Folk are quick to blame the RFL. They aren't a separate body telling the clubs what to do. The clubs have votes. They decide. They voted Toronto in. All the clubs are skint. They're not going to be paying Toronto's way.

Nonsense! Melchett doesn't say "Baah!" He says "I don't believe it!" You're thinking of Scrooge.
I'm not saying Toronto will turn out well. I'm saying that the blame/praise (depending on how it goes) lies with the clubs, not the RFL.

Sham is probably the wrong word. But looking at the pics in the trade papers today, the quality of accommodation is not that provided for the trips to Toulouse or for internationals - even the non-Test nations. Finance is far from unlimited.
I have a few reservations about the Wolfpack - none of which are insurmountable but which do need addressing.

| Season 1 done then, what's the verdict?
As expected they walked the league, attendances not only held up but improved, mostly excellent feedback from visiting teams & supporters, a young Canadian managed to debut, impressive corporate & broadcasting deals made, plenty of media attention and they've just announced some impressive signings for 2018.
Skimming back over the thread, is the jury still out for some people, or have they been won over? Are you looking forward to playing them next year? Any of you planning to travel over?

Toronto had weekend packages available this season as part of their partnership with Air Transat (match ticket, flights & 2-night hotel), so I assume they'll do the same in 2018.
Although if you can afford to, I'd recommend staying a week or so and explore the city & get out to Niagara/St Catherine's to make the most of it.

I've not done it myself, but I imagine so. You'd be able to get a flight, which takes only around 90minutes (or a 9hour drive, which isn't as horrible as it sounds).
St Catherine's is on the way if you chose to drive, which is a big wine producing region if you're into wine. Then you have Niagara Falls, I wouldn't recommend staying here, the town itself is a bit Blackpool-esque. Then a drive through New York State.
When I went over there in 2015, we landed at Boston & hired a car and did a loop back to Boston over a couple of weeks via Montreal & Toronto. The roads up there are big and pretty much empty outside of the cities, and you're driving through virtually untouched forest/countryside.

| Completely doable Hudd Shay. Did it myself last month. NY for 9 days then one hour plane journey to Toronto. Coach to Niagara for the day, great experience but agree it's pretty commercial but unforgettable. Took in a Blue Jays baseball game and couple of nice beers as well.
